    摘要: A recording/reproduction device includes a reading mechanism to read information data stored in a floppy disk and constituted by a plurality of byte data and first inspection data and second inspection data to detect an error of the information data. First and second calculation mechanism calculate a first and second syndrome value from the byte data and the first and second inspection data, respectively. First and second error correction mechanisms perform error correction for the information data on the basis of the first and second syndrome value, respectively. A computer includes the second error correction mechanism. Because the second error correction is not performed in the floppy disk drive, the capacity of a storage unit is decreased, a memory in the floppy disk drive can be considerably smaller than that of a conventional floppy disk drive, and the cost of the floppy disk drive can be reduced. In addition, since secondary correction is not performed in the floppy disk drive, an increase in data transfer rate from the floppy disk drive to the computer can be realized.

    摘要: An air-fuel ratio detecting device and a method capable of correctly and very precisely detecting the air-fuel ratio of an internal combustion engine. The air-fuel ratio detecting device comprises an air-fuel ratio sensor disposed in the exhaust system of an internal combustion engine, an air-fuel ratio sensor circuit which applies a voltage to the air-fuel ratio sensor, detects the current through the air-fuel ratio sensor and produces an output that varies in proportion to the magnitude of the current that is detected, and a storage means for storing the data of a conversion map which is used for calculating the air-fuel ratio of the internal combustion engine in response to the output of the air-fuel ratio sensor circuit. The air-fuel ratio detecting device further comprises a circuit error detection means for detecting an error in the output caused by the air-fuel ratio sensor circuit, and a map calibration means for calibrating the data of the conversion map stored in the storage means based upon the error in the output detected by the circuit error detection means.

    摘要: The air-fuel ratio control device according to the present invention controls the air-fuel ratio of the engine in accordance with the output of the air-fuel ratio sensor disposed on the exhaust gas passage upstream of the three-way reducing and oxidizing catalyst. Further, to compensate for the change in the output characteristics of the upstream air-fuel ratio sensor, the output of the upstream air-fuel ratio sensor is corrected in accordance with the output of another air-fuel ratio sensor disposed on the exhaust gas passage downstream of the catalyst. Since the response of the downstream air-fuel ratio sensor is delayed due to the O.sub.2 storage capacity of the catalyst, the air-fuel ratio control device in the present invention predicts the future value, by a specified time, of the output of the downstream air-fuel ratio sensor based on the history of the change in the output of the upstream air-fuel ratio sensor and the present output of the downstream air-fuel ratio sensor. Since the output of the upstream air-fuel ratio sensor is corrected based on the predicted output of the downstream air-fuel ratio sensor, precise air-fuel ratio control can be achieved by eliminating the delay in the response of the downstream air-fuel ratio sensor caused by the O.sub.2 storage capacity of the catalyst.

    摘要: A disk device having access to a disk in different writing modes includes a host PC. The host PC sends a command including a data transfer rate to a controller (disk drive). When the command designating the data transfer rate is received, the writing mode employed for writing data to a disk is automatically switched. The host PC already has the transfer rate to be sent. It is unnecessary to newly prepare a special command to notify the controller in order for switching between the writing modes. Therefore, versatility will not be impaired.

    摘要: A magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus which can write magnetic information in different recording periods so that information stored in a magnetic medium can be modified or corrected therewith in whichever recording period it is recorded. The apparatus comprises a bias change-over circuit for changing over the voltage to be applied to a magnetic head to effect recording in a recording period which is different from recording and reproducing characteristics of the magnetic head, and a writing circuit for supplying a writing current to the magnetic head in response to a voltage from the bias change-over circuit. Thus, by changing over the writing current, a recording period for recording on the magnetic medium can be modified.
