A composition with a high ganglioside content is manufactured by a method characterized in that milk or milk-derived material containing ganglioside is dispersed in an ethanol solution so that the concentration of ethanol becomes 60˜95%; after removing the precipitate which is generated by heating the solution to a temperature higher than 50° C., the obtained supernatant is cooled to a temperature lower than 0° C; and the obtained precipitate is recovered. The obtained composition with a high ganglioside content is used advantageously as a material for foods and drinks, medicines, chemical products, etc.

A multi-room type air-conditioner includes one outdoor apparatus and two or more indoor apparatuses which are respectively connected to the outdoor apparatus through respective electric expansion valves. The number of the indoor apparatuses to be connected is detected by a connection number detecting device, the closing degrees of the electric expansion valves are determined by the ratio of the loads of the respective indoor apparatuses and the frequency of the compressor is determined by a predetermined algorithmic expression of a relation between the loads of the respective indoor apparatuses which includes the rated capacities of the respective indoor apparatuses. Thereby, the air-conditioning operations for heating and cooling desired areas are optimally performed.

Urea is readily isolated and recovered from natural products. Urea can be brought into the permeate side by treating a urea-containing fraction extracted from natural products or sewage containing urea, with a nanofiltration (NF) membrane or reverse osmotic (RO) membrane. A milk-derived composition containing urea at a level of more than 0.2% of the total solids can be obtained by treating natural products such as milk or milk materials with an NF membrane or RO membrane to bring a fraction containing urea into the permeate side.
