An image processing unit performs, on the image data, image processing including gradation conversion processing according to an input/output characteristic defined by a gradation curve formed only of an exponential component represented by y=k·xn, where x is an input, y is an output, and k, n are coefficients. A calculating unit performs calculation for correction to improve lightness of dark area gradation of the image data. A correcting unit performs correction to improve lightness of the dark area gradation of the image data on which the image processing is performed by the image processing unit based on a calculation result of the calculating unit. Accordingly, image processing capable of generating a preferred image can be performed when various types of image processing are performed before and after compression of the dark area gradation.

    摘要: There is provided an automatic focusing device of a camera which accurately adjusts focus in a short time on the basis of recent and past information created in accordance with a focused object. The position of the object is predicted on the basis of the recent information and past information calculated at predetermined time intervals. It is therefore possible to accurately predict the position of the object in a short calculation time and to reliably determine whether the object is at rest or in motion. During a servo operation, a tracking servo operation does not begin erroneously for an object at rest. Once the tracking servo operation begins, because of hysteresis for determining whether the object is moving, the lens continuously and stably tracks the object. During the tracking servo operation, there is no delay of the time intervals at which the distance between the lens and the object is measured, and a distance moved by the object can be corrected and automatically adjusted. The lens can thus be moved smoothly in response to the movement of the object.

The presumed value or predictive value of a certain parameter of a plant is compared with the actually-measured value of the parameter, and the state transition matrix and drive matrix of the Kalman filter are corrected. When a parameter which is a direct controlled object is difficult of actual measurement, the model is corrected by utilizing another parameter whose actual measurement value is easily obtained. When the plant has a feedback control system based on the proportional-plus-integral control, the gain of the system is corrected in correspondence with the corrections of the elements of the matrices.

    摘要: In an image processing apparatus performing synthetic processing on N number of images (where N is an integer of two or larger) being captured from a same photographic scene under mutually different exposure conditions to generate a synthetic image with a higher dynamic range than the N number of images, obtaining the N number of images, and performing low-pass processing on at least one image among the N number of images to generate a low-pass image. Then, a weighting amount in the synthetic processing is decided based on the low-pass image, and the synthetic processing is performed on the N number of images according to the decided weighting amount to generate the synthetic image. Accordingly, a natural synthetic image with fewer changes in contrast, hue, and chroma is generated in a simple configuration when generating the synthetic image.
