Abstract:
There is provided a method of, computer programs for and apparatus for providing and accessing digital content such as a news item. A news provider generates a news item, creates a digitally signed version of the news item and packages them together with a digital certificate issued by a certificate authority containing the public key required to decrypt the digitally signed version. The package is posted to a server and is transmitted, or made available or transmission, over a public data network together with a computer program for verifying the news item. A receiving party receives, over the public data network, the package at a client device and is provided with means for launching, and if necessary first downloading, the verifying program. The verifying program uses the public key contained in the certificate to verify the digitally signed news item. Before being first used to verify a news item, the verifying program receives a shared secret from the receiving party which is stored locally to the client device and is used by the verifying program to confirm that it performed the verification process.
Abstract:
Drug substance for use in a pharmaceutical formulation may be prepared by a process which process comprises co-milling a suspension of the drug substance and a pharmaceutically acceptable polymer in a liquid propellant.
Abstract:
Solid dispersions of poorly soluble drugs, such as (6R,12aR)-2,3,6,7,12,12a-hexahydro-2-methyl-6-(3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl)-pyrazino[2',1':6,1]pyrido[3,4-b]indole-1,4-dione and (+)-N-[1-(adamantanmethyl)-2,4-dioxo-5-phenyl-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-1,5-benzodiazepin-3-yl]-N'-phenylurea, methods of preparing the solid dispersions, and use of the solid dispersions in pharmaceutical compositions are disclosed.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a method for invoking additional processing at a remote computing device using remote procedure calls (RPCs) is provided. In this method, a list of functions supported by the remote computing device is received from the remote computing device. From the list of functions, a function that requires metadata about the function is identified. The metadata and argument required by the function is accessed, and an RPC message that includes the metadata and the argument is composed. The RPC message is then transmitted to the remote computing device. Here, the RPC message is transmitted to call the function with the argument as input and to invoke the additional processing based on the metadata.
Abstract:
A method, system and computer-program product for deploying a package of objects in a learning management system. The method includes the steps of transmitting a Shareable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) package to a SCORM Learning Management System (LMS); parsing out from the SCORM package a copy of a list of resources needed to deploy the SCORM package from the LMS; comparing names of all resources needed to deploy the SCORM package with an inventory of resources available to the LMS; in response to a name of one of the resources needed to deploy the SCORM package not matching any name in the inventory of resources available to the LMS, updating the name of the non-matching named resource to match a name of a resource in the inventory of resources available to the LMS; and deploying the SCORM package by launching the SCORM package with the corrected list of resources.
Abstract:
A fourth embodiment of the present invention is a method of generating a temperature compensated absorbance spectrum. The method includes the steps of: a. providing a sample spectrum and an estimated temperature of a backdrop object; b. from a set of known temperature spectra related to a known background temperature, selecting at least two known temperature spectra representing a background temperature above and below the estimated temperature; c. comparing the sample spectrum to the known temperature spectra in order to determine a sample background spectrum; and d. calculating an absorbance spectrum from the sample spectrum and the background spectrum.
