Abstract:
The present invention pertains to the provision of Light Emitting Polymer structure, which increases the versatility of the coloring and marking of surface areas of manufactured items, particularly fabric and garments.
Abstract:
An imaging system for applying separate color tonemaps comprises an optical scanning assembly configured to scan an object and produce image data having a first resolution that corresponds to a color characteristic. A memory device associated with the imaging system stores a look-up table that corresponds to a predetermined transfer function. An image data processor operatively associated with the memory device and the optical scanning assembly alters the resolution of the image data having the first resolution to produce image data having a second resolution, the second resolution being less than the first resolution, and also applies the image data having the second resolution to the look-up table to look up LowPoint image data having a third resolution, the third resolution being greater than the second resolution.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a switch that allows a peripheral device, such as a PCL printer, to be shared by multiple computer systems. The switch connects to each of the computer systems, and also to the peripheral device being shared. The first system is considered the primary user of the peripheral device, so when the second system requests access to the peripheral device, the switch causes the peripheral device to save its state temporarily while the second system uses the device. When the second system's use is complete, the switch causes the peripheral device to restore its state to the last state established by the first system. Therefore, the first system need not know that the other system used the peripheral device, since the state of the peripheral device appears unchanged from the last time the first system used the device.
Abstract:
Illustrative embodiments of systems and methods for improving traction of a bicycle are disclosed. The invention described are traction loops comprised of a strap having projections extending therefrom. The loops are fastened around the width of the tire using a fastening device. The loops may be easily applied and removed to provide the rider with flexibility to use the loops on slicker surfaces and remove them when riding on drier surfaces. The loops may further be easily stored on the bike when not in use.
Abstract:
Individual zones are defined within a multi-zone assisted guidance region by storing a zone GPS data point target width, assigning GPS data points located within a perimeter and within the target width to a second zone, allotting GPS data points located interior of and distinct from the second zone and within the target width to a first zone; and finally ascribing unassigned GPS data points located interior of and distinct from the first zone to a safe zone. If there is not enough total width between perimeter points in a region to provide all zones at the target width, a data point width of more exterior zones are preferentially electronically maintained at the target width and more interior zones are reduced or eliminated. In addition, adjacent guidance zones have unique stimulation that acts through different neurological access channels to provide behavioral guidance to an animal.
Abstract:
An apparatus providing the capability to scan transmissive media is presented. The apparatus comprises an illuminating lid for an optical scanner. The lid is hingeably attached to the base of the scanner and provides a backlight for transmissive media. A light source, located within the lid, projects light through a translucent screen, through an X-ray for example, onto photodetector arrays located within the base of the scanner. Control means are provided to maintain the light intensity of the light source located within the lid so that a flat light profile is provided during the scan.
Abstract:
A facsimile device (also called a fax machine), having programmable autodial capabilities, which automatically generates legible telephone directory labels. The fax machine of the present invention has a window for displaying the telephone directory label and a memory for storing programmed telephone numbers and names. The fax machine also has a port which is connected to a printer. To automatically generate the telephone directory label, the fax machine accesses the memory for the programmed telephone numbers and names. Then, the fax machine causes the printer to print the telephone directory label by sending commands and the programmed telephone numbers and names to the printer.
Abstract:
An apparatus having an image behind a document to be scanned on an optical image scanner, copier, facsimile machine or similar device. The image behind the document would partially bleed-through into the reproduced image, leaving a faint replica of the auxiliary “bleed-through” image in the reproduced image.
