摘要： An occlusion device has a covering attached to a support frame that includes a disc-shaped member and a crossbar that extends across a central opening defined by the disc-shaped member. The occlusion device has a first, or deployed, configuration in which the crossbar defines a curve that extends from the disc-shaped member, and a second, or resting, configuration in which the disc-shaped member and the crossbar lie substantially in a single plane. Each of the disc-shaped member and the crossbar include a core wire that extends through a lumen of a coil multiple times.

摘要： A scanning system for use in radiology incorporates two disks bearing identically patterned, radial arrays of apertures and corresponding X-ray detection materials, respectively. The disks are axially aligned and synchronously rotated on opposite sides of the radiological target. X-rays emitted adjacent to the first disk are strobed by the apertures and detected by photodiode arrays on the second disk after passing through said target. The detection array is scanned to produce the X-ray information for digital processing and imaging. The foregoing apparatus may be portable and mounted for retrofitting relative to existing X-ray installations.

摘要： An occlusion device for implantation within a body lumen includes a distal end, a proximal end, and an expandable member extending from the distal end to the proximal end. The expandable tubular member defines a passageway extending from the distal end to the proximal end. The expandable tubular member includes a plurality of struts that are joined to adjacent struts to form a plurality of closed shapes each defining a closed path. The plurality of struts are joined to form a plurality of fixed joints so that adjacent struts are pivotable around respective one of the fixed joints when an external force is applied to the expandable tubular member. The tubular member defines an ellipsoid shape.
