    摘要: A golf training device that is affixed to to the arm and hand of the golfer-in-training in order to control the range of hand movement during the downswing of a golf swing. The device having multiple embodiments that cooperatively controls hand to wrist angles in order to keep the hands in the proper position throughout the swing. More descriptively, the device allows complete range of motion of the hands except in the extended or downward direction ‘after’ initiation of the swing. In a golf swing it is important to disallow movement in the downward direction once the golf swing has been initiated, but it is also important to allow full and natural freedom of movement every other direction so a golfer-in-training does not feel uncomfortable or restriction while practicing. The present invention as constructed also allows the device to return to the natural address position upon completion of the swing.

    摘要: Methods and systems are provided for authenticating access to a wearable computing device using an authentication object, such as a hand. The wearable computing device comprises a head mountable display (HMD) and an image capture device and has access to a data profile for the authentication object. The wearable computing device provides (e.g., using the HMD) an indication for positioning the authentication object within a field of view of the image capture device. After providing the indication for positioning the authentication object, the wearable computing device receives image data from the image capture device. If the wearable computing device identifies the authentication object in the image data, for example, by matching at least a portion of the image data with data in the data profile, authentication is successful and one or more functions of the wearable computing device can be enabled.

    摘要: In some implementations, legibility of an image may be automatically determined based, at least in part, on text contained in the image. For example, image analysis techniques may be used to identify text components in an image. One or more features of each text component may be determined for use in assessing the legibility of the text component. For example, a classifier trained on the one or more features may provide a confidence level indicative of the legibility of each text component. The confidence level for each of the text components may be compared to a legibility threshold for determining whether the text component is legible or illegible. Based, at least in part, on the determination as to how much of the text in the image is legible or illegible, an overall legibility of the image may be assessed.

    摘要: A ribbon microphone having a housing made of wood, a wood laminate, or another suitable composite material having a characteristic impedance and density and a ribbon transducer assembly with metal support chassis having a higher characteristic impedance and density. By engineering a body housing and the ribbon support chassis having a similar or equal total weight but differing greatly in density, a rapid attenuation of internal harmonics is achieved, particularly reducing the undesirable metallic resonance of the metal bodies of conventional microphones. The improved tonal quality is achieved, not by uncoupling the acoustic mass of the housing, but rather, by tightly coupling the wood housing to a slender chassis on rails that support the ribbon. Advantageously, this cooperative effect also acts to dampen unwanted rumble and external shock outputs, and in a preferred embodiment, magnetic pole pieces are eliminated by designing air gaps between the chassis and the magnets. The chassis is a conductor and electrically connects the ribbon to a transformer, eliminating the need for solder connections. Thus the ribbon support system of the invention achieves a synergy of function by eliminating unneeded parts, simplifying assembly, and improving the tonal quality of the microphone.
