Abstract:
Three-dimensional web materials, more particularly, a three-dimensional web material having a first side and a second side are disclosed herein. The first side comprises at least one region having a plurality of spaced elongate three-dimensional protrusions extending outwardly from the first side which are preferably unitarily formed from the web material. The elongate protrusions form an amorphous pattern of a plurality of elongate two-dimensional geometrical shapes.
Abstract:
A process for printing a web substrate in contacting engagement with an external surface of a central roll of a contact printing system is disclosed. The process comprises the steps of: a) providing the central roll with a plurality of discrete cells disposed upon an outer surface thereof; b) contactingly engaging at least two primary fluids internal to the central roll to form a first secondary fluid; c) fluidically displacing the first secondary fluid into a first portion of the plurality of discrete cells from a position internal to the central roll; and, d) displacing the first secondary fluid from each of the first portion of discrete cells onto the web substrate.
Abstract:
A gravure printing system is disclosed. The gravure printing system has a central roll with a plurality of discrete cells disposed upon an outer surface thereof. A first of the plurality of discrete cells are capable of receiving at least one fluid and a second of the plurality of discrete cells are capable of receiving at least two fluids. Each of the fluids is fluidically displaced into the first and second cells from a position internal to the central roll.
Abstract:
A method for testing the break-through strength of a tissue product is disclosed. The method entails the steps of: a) observing a first condition of the tissue product; b) disposing the tissue product between a lower platen and an upper platen; c) disposing at least a portion of the tissue product within an aperture disposed within the lower platen and an aperture disposed within the upper platen; d) providing a simulated mucous composition; e) directing the simulated mucous composition toward the tissue product disposed within the aperture disposed within the lower platen and the aperture disposed within the upper platen; f) after step d), observing a second condition of the tissue product; and, g) comparing the first and the second conditions of the tissue product.
Abstract:
A tissue paper product having at least one ply, wherein only one outer surface of said tissue paper product has a polyhydroxy compound applied thereto by slot extrusion, said polyhydroxy compound providing said tissue paper product with a Wet Burst greater than about 90 g, a Dynamic Coefficient of Friction less than about 0.9, and a Bending Flexibility less than about 0.1 gf cm2/cm.

Abstract:
An apparatus for testing the break-through strength of a tissue product is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a dose addition assembly having an opening and a sample holder. The sample holder comprises a lower platen and an upper platen disposed in a fact to face relationship and each having coextensive openings disposed therein. The opening of the dose addition assembly is disposed proximate to one of the openings disposed within the upper and lower platens. A substance is disposed within the dose addition assembly and is capable of being expectorated from the opening of the dose addition assembly through one of the openings disposed within the upper and lower platens onto a tissue product disposed between the upper and lower platens and within the openings disposed within the upper and lower platens.
Abstract:
A multi-ply paper product is disclosed. The multi-ply paper product is provided with a first play and a second ply. The first ply is a lotioned fibrous structure having a wet burst of less than about 100 grams. The second ply is a non-lotioned fibrous structure having a wet burst of greater than about 100 grams.
Abstract:
A paper product of the present disclosure having at least one ply is disclosed. At least one outer surface of the paper product has indicia comprising at least one ink disposed thereon and substantially affixed thereto. The at least one ink has a color value defined by a 3-D CIELab (L*a*b*) color gamut. The 3-D CIELab (L*a*b*) color gamut is at least about 681% greater than a Kien 3-D (L*a*b*) color gamut.
