摘要： An illumination device for use in an ophthalmic surgical apparatus, the illumination device including a fiber optic having a proximal end and a connector coupled to the fiber optic. The connector includes one or more of (1) a datum surface disposed a predetermined distance from the proximal end to position the proximal end at a predetermined location within the surgical apparatus, (2) a shutter actuation surface configured and arranged to open a shutter in the surgical apparatus when the connector is being connected to the surgical apparatus, and (3) a visual indicator position to provides a visual indication that the connector is fully inserted into the surgical apparatus. The illumination device may be in a combination with an ophthalmic surgical apparatus.

摘要： A network element can be configured for connection to any portion of a communication network: access, transport and core. Moreover, a single network element can be configured to couple subscriber equipment directly to the core portion of the network, thereby permitting the subscriber to bypass the transport portion of the network. Specifically, such a network element can be configured to include a line unit that supports subscriber equipment (also called a “subscriber line unit”), and also to include a line unit to support a link to the core of the communication network (also called a “core line unit”). The subscriber line unit and core line unit are both installed in a single chassis, and each unit can be installed in any of a number of slots in the chassis. Moreover, when configured with appropriate line units, such a network element may support traditional circuit-switched telephony services while simultaneously delivering packet-based voice or data services. The network element provides multi-class service over the entire range of the network because it employs a common switch fabric for handling both synchronous and asynchronous traffic over a common bus.

摘要： An apparatus to hold open for loading a limp plastic bag, such as a grocery bag used as a trash receptacle, includes a generally rectangular and horizontal base, four upstanding legs each attached to a corner of the base, and two generally horizontal handle engaging members each spanning between the top ends of two adjacent legs. The handle engaging members protrude through the bag handles to support the bag in an open manner over the base. The handle engaging members have angled surfaces to fully extend the opening on a variety of different sized bags. The base has a recessed central portion for containing any liquids spilled from the bag.
