摘要： When a memory card is inserted into a card reader of an MFP, a selected network address is set as a connection destination, and a memory card insertion signal is transmitted to the connection destination. On the other hand, when no network address is selected, all network addresses stored in the memory card are set as connection destinations, and the memory card insertion signal is transmitted to the set connection destinations. The memory card insertion signal includes information indicating the insertion of the memory card into the card reader and a network address of the MFP.

摘要： A word processor with display screen having a search and replace function wherein, when the cursor is positioned at the head of a character queue input area on the display screen in the search and replacement mode, a correction key stroke causes all the characters displayed in the character queue input area to be erased, so the character queues of the SEARCH and REPLACE WORDS can be easily and efficiently entered and the time required for text memorization and editorial operations by the word processor is reduced. Furthermore, the accuracy and ease of conversion of words or phrases in the text is improved, especially with regard to appropriate conversion between capital and small characters.

摘要： A communication system includes a host device and a peripheral device which are communicate with each other according to a main communication protocol that allows the command to be transmitted only from the host device to the peripheral device. The peripheral device accepts an input and to generate a trigger that urges the host device to start a target communication event in accordance with the input. The host device issues a trigger report request command to the peripheral device. The peripheral device transmits trigger generation report information containing a presence or absence of a generation of the trigger to the host device in response to the trigger report request command. The host device receives the trigger generation report information, determines the presence or absence of the generation of the trigger and starts the target event if the presence of the generation of the trigger is determined.
