摘要: A hybrid bumper assembly for a vehicle includes a steel reinforcement beam and aluminum crush cans attached to end portions of the steel reinforcement beam. The reinforcement beam has a multi-tubular shape that is formed by a high-strength steel sheet that is roll formed to provide at least two tubular portions. A crush can has an interfacing portion that is coupled to an end portion of the reinforcement beam. The end portions of the reinforcement beam and the interfacing portion of the crush cans may be configured to attach together using a select joining technology in a manner that minimizes or eliminates bimetallic or galvanic corrosion between the reinforcement beam and the crush cans.

摘要: Disclosed is a method for activating a surface of metals, such as self-passivated metals, and of metal-oxide dissolution, effected using a fluoroanion-containing composition. Also disclosed is an electrochemical cell utilizing an aluminum-containing anode material and a fluoroanion-containing electrolyte, characterized by high efficiency, low corrosion, and optionally mechanical or electrochemical rechargeability. Also disclosed is a process for fusing (welding, soldering etc.) a self-passivated metal at relatively low temperature and ambient atmosphere, and a method for electrodepositing a metal on a self-passivated metal using metal-oxide source.

摘要: A junction structure includes a first material that is a metallic material, a third material that is a metallic material and is weldable to the first material, and a second material which is a nonferrous metallic material or a nonmetallic material. The second material is sandwiched and fixed between the first material and the third material by lap joining. At least one of the first material or the third material has a weld zone where the first material and the third material are melted and joined together, and at least one exhaust groove or at least one exhaust hole around the weld zone. The at least one exhaust groove or the at least one exhaust hole penetrates a thickness of the at least one of the first material or the third material.

One or more members extend from the end plates or an annular ring, the annular ring provided between the end plates, the other of the end plates or annular ring comprising one or more first slots at one end thereof to be aligned with and for receiving the one or more members of the first end plate, and one or more second slots at the other end thereof to be aligned with and for receiving the one or more members. Resilient sealing members are provided around the one or more members between the end plates and annular ring, and an urging mechanism urges the first and second end plates towards the annular ring to deform the first and second resilient sealing members to engage the inner wall of the pipe.

摘要: A system for welding two pipes includes a first pipe clamp, a second pipe clamp, a weld torch, an inspection detector, a motor, one or more processors, and a grinder. The weld torch is configured to create a weld joint between the pipes at an interface region between the pipes. The inspection detector is configured to emit an inspection beam of radiation. The motor is operatively associated with the inspection detector to direct the inspection beam of radiation along the weld joint between the pipes. The one or more processors are operatively associated with the inspection detector to determine a profile of the weld joint between the pipes. The grinder is configured to grind at least a portion of the weld joint between the pipes based on the profile of the weld joint between the pipes.

The flux contains fluorides of which a total value α of F-equivalent values is 0.21% or more, oxides of which the total value β of amounts ranges from 0.30% to less than 3.50%, and carbonates of which a total value of amounts ranges from 0% to 3.50%. An amount of CaO ranges from 0% to less than 0.20%. An amount of iron powder ranges from 0% to less than 10.0%. A X-value is 5.0% or less. The amount of CaF2 is less than 0.50%. The amount of Ti oxides ranges from 0.10% to less than 2.50%. A ratio of α to β ranges from 0.10 to 4.00. A total value of amounts of MgCO3, Na2CO3, and LiCO3 ranges from 0% to 3.00%. Other chemical composition is within a predetermined range. Ceq ranges from 0.45% to 1.20%.
