摘要： An endoscope comprises an inserting unit main body, and a head unit that is freely detachably attached to the distal end of the inserting unit main body and that includes an image pickup device which picks up an image of an object and a light emitting element which irradiates illumination light to the object. A holding member holds the head unit such that distal extension of the holding member angles the head unit in a radial direction orthogonal to a longitudinal axis of the distal end of the inserting unit main body.

The switching device control unit 75 controls the operation for distributing a control command from a remote controller or PC to the corresponding endoscope device based on a character code sent from a system control unit in the endoscope control device. Simultaneously, the switching device control unit 75 controls the image combining circuit 73 via a serial I/F.

摘要： An endoscope apparatus includes an endoscope insertion section and an optical adapter that is detachably attachable to the endoscope insertion section. In the optical adapter, an LED and a resistor for connection detection are connected in parallel to two electric contacts. In the endoscope insertion section, two signal lines are connected to electric contacts, which are connectable to the two electric contacts in the optical adapter. The endoscope apparatus includes an attachment-and-detachment determining power supply that is connected to one of the signal lines through a switching circuit, and an optical-adapter-attachment-and-detachment determining section. When connection of the optical adapter is detected, the switching circuit is switched to supply an electric current for turning on the LED from an LED turn-on power supply to the one of the signal lines.

To two signal lines 17a and 17b connected to electric contacts 15 connected to the two electric contacts 14, an attachment-and-detachment determining power supply 21 is connected through a switching circuit 18 and an optical-adapter-attachment-and-detachment determining section 24 is connected. When connection of the optical adapter 4 is detected, the switching circuit 18 is switched to supply an electric current for turning on the LED 11 from an LED turn-on power supply 22.
