摘要: A playback speed control system for a reproducing apparatus allows a user to manually vary the playback speed of a recording medium. When a user rotates a dial of the reproducing apparatus, a frequency generator generates pulses with a frequency that matches the rotational speed of the dial. A counter counts these generated pulses within a specified time period. In one embodiment, the recording medium speed is kept constant over a particular range of dial rotational speeds, while outside this range, the tape speed varies in accordance with the dial rotational speed. In another embodiment, if the value of the count data exceeds a reference value, then these pulses are averaged, and the averaged result is used to determine the speed of the recording medium. If the count data value is less than the reference value, then this count data is used to determine the speed of the recording medium. In yet another embodiment, the generated pulses are averaged in accordance with one of a plurality of averaging techniques. The particular averaging technique is selected in accordance with a comparison between the count data value and a plurality of reference values. Each consecutive pair of reference values defines a particular range. Each range corresponds to a particular averaging technique, and when a count data value falls within a particular range, then the pulses are averaged in accordance with the averaging technique that corresponds to that particular range.

摘要: A data recording apparatus for a motion picture film for digitally recording data concerning an image of the motion picture film. The data recording apparatus includes a plurality of light emission units (LEDs) 4 lighted responsive to the data concerning an image, a light volume detection units 5 for detecting the light emission volume of each of the light emission unit, a reference value outputting unit 6 for outputting a reference output specifying a reference value of the light emission volume of the light emission unit and a control unit 8 for comparing the reference output value of the reference value outputting unit 6 to each detected output value from the light volume detection unit 5 for controlling the light emission of the LEDs 4 so that each detected output value will be equal to the reference output value. With the data recording apparatus for a motion picture film, each light emitting unit operates with the uniform light emission volume during data recording, thus enabling printing fluctuations of the recording pattern of the negative motion picture film for improving the SN ratio at the time of reproducing a positive film obtained from the negative film. Specifically, the negative film can be improved in quality inexpensively during recording of digital audio data on the motion picture film.

摘要: Focus control is provided by estimating an estimation value by extracting a high-frequency component of a video signal for each focus lens position. The correct focus lens position for focusing a target object is determined as that focus lens position where the estimation value for a plurality of conditions at a particular focus lens position becomes maximum. The estimation value is determined to be maximum when, for successive focus lens positions, the estimation value decreases continuously. The various conditions for imaging, according to an aspect of the focus control, includes the filter coefficients for extracting the high-frequency component of the video signal and the size of the windows from which the video signal is imaged. The estimation value for each focus lens position is determined for these various conditions for imaging and a predetermined weight is allocated thereto, wherein the estimation value is determined to increase when the weighted sum indicating an increase outweighs that for a decrease.
