摘要: A water base ink for ink-jet recording comprises water, a coloring agent, a water-soluble organic solvent, and a benzotriazole-based metal-inactivating agent and alkanolamine. When the ink is used in an ink-jet recording apparatus which has the metal member containing nickel or nickel alloy in an ink supply passage, nickel is eluted from the metal member in an amount of not more than 50 ppm. The ink makes it possible to perform stable jetting operation for a long term without causing any deterioration of metal members of a discharge head due to the metallic corrosion and the elution of nickel into the ink.

摘要: An ink set for ink-jet recording comprises a yellow ink, a magenta ink, and a cyan ink. Changes of colors &Dgr;EY, &Dgr;EM, &Dgr;EC of the yellow ink, the magenta ink, and the cyan ink satisfy the following relationship when the yellow ink, the magenta ink, and the cyan ink are deposited on regular paper, followed by being irradiated with light having a wavelength of 300 nm to 400 nm and an illuminance of 100 W/m2 for 30 hours by using a xenon lamp: |&Dgr;EY−&Dgr;EM|≦5, |&Dgr;EM−&Dgr;EC|≦5, |&Dgr;EC−&Dgr;EY|≦5. The ink set is excellent in color balance after the fading.

摘要: A hot-melt color ink-jet recording process comprises ejecting at least yellow, magenta and cyan to make a record. The yellow, magenta and cyan hot-melt inks comprises respectively a yellow colorant, a magenta colorant and a cyan colorant. Each hot-melt ink is prepared by mixing the corresponding colorant with a polyamide resin and a wax. In this recording process, at least one of the yellow and magenta hot-melt inks contains a 1-alkene/maleic anhydride copolymer.

摘要: A method of manufacturing polymer particles for use in a toner capable of incorporating fine wax particle in a polymer resin particle also in a case of adopting a dispersion polymerization method used generally so far, thereby enabling to prevent offset in a heat fixing device provided to copying machines or printers thereby improving the fixing property of the toner and capable of forming images at fine fineness when the polymer resin particles are used as the toner. The fine wax particle is dispersed by using the polymeric dispersant into an organic solvent and one or more of monomers for forming the polymer is dissolved and the polymerizing reaction of the monomer is proceeded while depositing the fine polymer particles on the surface of the fine wax particle upon deposition of the polymer into the organic solvent in the initial stage of the polymerizing reaction of the monomer, thereby incorporating the fine wax particles into the formed polymer particle.

摘要: A hot-melt solid ink composition comprises at least one polyamide and at least one terpene resin. The terpene resin is present in an amount of from 0.5% by weight to 15% by weight based on the total weight of the ink composition. This hot-melt solid ink composition can be stable to heat upon recording using ink-jet recording apparatus where ink is heated to melt at a temperature higher than ordinary temperature to make a record, and has a superior transparency and a superior adhesion to printing mediums.

摘要: An electrostatic latent image developer containing a carrier, a toner, and an electric field adjusting agent. The electric field adjusting agent is formed as particles having an average particle size smaller than that of the carrier, and contains a magnetic powder in a specific amount less than that of a magnetic powder contained in the carrier and greater than that of a magnetic powder contained in the toner. The magnetic powder may be deposited on the surface of each particle of the electric field adjusting agent to form a conductive layer capable of smoothly taking or imparting charges away from or to the toner. Accordingly, an electric field formed in a gap between a developing sleeve and a photosensitive member can be intensified to thereby prevent an edge effect and enhance a permittivity in this gap. Accordingly, the electrostatic latent image formed on the photosensitive member can be faithfully developed.
