    摘要: A receiving side compares measured quality of received data with target quality and performs variable control of a target SIR, as well as, compares that target SIR with measured SIR and transmits transmission-power information (TPC information) that is created based on the comparison result to a transmitting side, then the transmitting side performs control of the transmission power based on that transmission power control information. Furthermore, the receiving side monitors whether the transmission power has reached a limit, and stops update of the target SIR when the transmission power has reached the limit. Also, when the communication environment changes and it becomes possible to perform transmission power control, the receiving side restarts variable control of the target SIR.

    摘要: Signals from antennas A and B are alternately switched by an antenna switch at a predetermined rate. Then, the signals from the antennas A and B are alternately input to a wireless receiving unit. The wireless receiving unit orthogonal-signal-detects the signals received by the antennas A and B, and inputs the detected signals to a branch selecting unit. The branch selecting unit extracts only the signals from either of the antennas from the signals obtained from the antennas A and B, which are alternately arranged in time series, and transmits the extracted signals to a matched filter. A searcher obtains despreading timings from correlation values, and stores the obtained timings in two memories. The searcher obtains despreading timings with large correlation values, and transmits the timings to a despreading unit to perform RAKE reception.

    摘要: A dual mode communication system, with user equipment selectively connectable to a plurality of communication systems, for switching communication systems to which the user equipment should be connected, detects that the remaining battery level fell below a first threshold in the user equipment communicating over the W-CDMA system. In the system it is determined whether or not the user equipment can communicate using the GSM system, which can be operated with lower power consumption than the W-CDMA system. When it is determined that communication can be established with the GSM system, the system switches from a connection between the user equipment and the W-CDMA system to a connection between the user equipment and the GSM system without interrupting the communication over the W-CDMA.

    摘要: An open-loop power controller of a transmission power control apparatus investigates whether a dedicated control channel DCCH and a synchronization channel SCH overlap. If the channels overlap, the open-loop power controller suspends ordinary open-loop power control processing, increases a target SIR by a satisfactory level and indicates this to a closed-loop power controller. The closed-loop power controller maintains the indicated target SIR and executes closed-loop transmission power control processing based upon the target SIR. The open-loop power controller resumes ordinary open-loop transmission power control processing after DCCH reception ends.
