    摘要: A rotary priming service station system is provided for priming inkjet printheads in an inkjet printing mechanism. A platform pivoted to a rotatable tumbler supports a plunger-actuated rolling diaphragm cap. A trigger mechanism is pivoted to the sled to actuate the cap plunger, which pulls down on the cap to draw a negative priming pressure on the nozzles when the cap is sealed against the printhead. A retractable stand-off finger project through the sled to separate the diaphragm cap from the printhead until the cap begin to draw the negative priming pressure. Through tumbler rotation and printhead motion, the trigger mechanism is cocked and activated. The platform supports a wiper that performs a fast post-prime wipe of the printhead. The tumbler rotates the cap and wiper against a blotting mechanism to blot away any primed ink residue. A method is also provided for priming inkjet printheads in an inkjet printing mechanism.

    摘要: A sensor configuration for use in detecting ink droplets ejected from an ink drop generator is provided. The sensor configuration includes a sensing element configured to receive a biasing voltage which creates an electric field from the sensing element to the ink drop generator. The sensor configuration also includes a sensing amplifier coupled to the sensing element, whereby the sensing element in imparted with an electrical stimulus when at least one ink droplet is ejected in the presence of the electric field, and thereafter passes in close proximity to the sensing element without substantially contacting the sensing element. Sensor configurations with a separate electrically biasing element which may or may not contact the ink droplets are also provided.     摘要: A humidity determination system for a hardcopy device, such as an inkjet printing mechanism, determines ambient humidity so printing routines may be adjusted to provide fast, high quality output in all environments. The system includes a thermal device having a viewable surface with a temperature which changes in response to a control signal. An optical sensor observes the viewable surface to detect an optical change in the sensor, such as when the surface passes through the dew point. A controller determines humidity from an ambient temperature reading and the temperature of the viewable surface at which the optical change occurs. With this information, the controller may change operating parameters of the hardcopy device. A hard copy device having such a humidity determination system is also provided, along with methods of determining humidity and operating a hardcopy device.
