    摘要: Seal assemblies for sealing around a moveable shaft, such as rotary or reciprocating, or static, are described. The seal assemblies prevent the passage of lubricant or fluid from a relatively high pressure area on a first side of the seal to a relatively low pressure area on a second side of the seal. In some embodiments, these seals are energized by energizers, such as circular springs or canted springs, to keep the seal in contact with the moveable shaft. The seals have primary and secondary seals. The secondary seal provides initial moderate sealing against abrasive particles or contaminants to reduce the exposure and wear of the primary seal.

    摘要: Embodiments of the present apparatus are configured to secure a first member and a second member to one another. The first and second members include a bore extending through at least one of the first and second members and at least partially through the other of the first and second members. The apparatus comprises a pin connector including an enlarged ball portion positioned along a shank. The first member includes an annular groove extending around the bore. A canted coil spring seats within the groove. The apparatus is configured such that the spring exerts a squeezing force on the ball portion when the pin connector is disposed within the bore and the head of the pin connector contacts the second member.

    摘要: A circular or plate wave spring that maintains high conductivity under high operating temperatures is provided herein. This is possible due to, at least in part, the conductor being made from a hi-metallic or multi-metallic material which can include a high tensile strength material, such as steel, that maintains strength properties at elevated temperatures cladded with a layer of highly conductive metal, such as copper. The high tensile strength material helps maintain the contact force needed for good conductivity since highly conductive metals and alloys tend to lose their tensile properties at elevated temperatures. The connector is presented here as a wave spring providing inward or outward protrusions for a conductive pin and housing.

Wire to be used in canted coil springs can have two or more metals oriented co-axially along such wire, such as an outer layer of one metal having one set of properties, and a core of a different metal having a different set of properties, that will achieve a single solid, multi-metallic wire with enhanced performance over a single material canted coil spring. Such features may be found advantageous in electrical applications, such as where both high electrical conductivity and high strength properties are desired.

    摘要: The present cartridge seal assemblies pertain to rotary lip-type seals. In certain embodiments, a sealing member is constructed of a relatively hard material that increases the lifespan of the sealing member. The sealing member is energized with a canted-coil spring, which in some embodiments includes an adjustable spring force. The present embodiments enable control of sealing force to achieve an appropriate sealing force between the sealing member and the shaft based on factors such as temperature, pressure, rotary speed, properties of fluid media, etc. to achieve longer seal life.

    摘要: A circular or plate wave spring that maintains high conductivity under high operating temperatures is provided herein. This is possible due to, at least in part, the conductor being made from a bi-metallic or multi-metallic material which can include a high tensile strength material, such as steel, that maintains strength properties at elevated temperatures cladded with a layer of highly conductive metal, such as copper. The high tensile strength material helps maintain the contact force needed for good conductivity since highly conductive metals and alloys tend to lose their tensile properties at elevated temperatures.
