摘要: This disclosure relates to the color management of image output devices. Specifically, this disclosure provides methods, apparatus and systems to generate a destination printer profile for coated images. According to one exemplary method, the destination printer profile is generated by printing a plurality of color patches which are then coated, measuring the color attributes associated with the coated color patches, and modifying a destination printer profile to compensate for differences between the printed and coated color patches, relative to a respective reference color.

摘要: The present application discloses a system, method and device for placing substantially invisible marks comprising alphanumeric characters, symbols, or bar codes, on a page using clear ink or toner, which may then be read by a spectrophotometer. Such substantially invisible marks are not viewable to the unaided eye of a human observer, do not distract a viewer, and allow the viewer to focus their attention on the printed matter and text of interest to the viewer.

摘要: A variable data pantograph is formed by receiving a variable data string and retrieving at least one character representation from a vocabulary of character representations stored in memory. The retrieved at least one character representation corresponds to the variable data string. Each of the character representations in the vocabulary include a foreground region including a character shape and a background region suitably sized and arranged for encompassing the foreground region. The background region incorporates a first pattern of elements and the foreground region incorporates a second pattern of elements. The retrieved at least one character representation is assembled to form a variable data pantograph, whereby when the variable data pantograph is rendered in an original document, the foreground and background regions are similar in tone, the foreground and background regions being substantially less similar in tone in a copy of the original document to render the character visible.

摘要: The present exemplary embodiment relates to a job integrity and verification system which uses patches comprised of at least one symbology printed in non-visible ink and attached to the individual components of a job. The patches are detected, read, and interpreted by use of an inline spectrophotometer. The content of the plurality of patches are compared and when a match is detected, the components containing the patches are combined together into one end item finished product.

摘要: An improved system and method for tracking and managing documents in a high throughput document printing line comprising a printing means, a sensor means and a processing means. The printing means prints a desired invisible symbology and visible text on a document fed to it. The clear printing toner is fused with an invisible marker. The invisible symbology is printed on the document using the invisible marker. The sensor means is capable of reading the invisible symbology printed on the document. The sensor means communicates the sensor readings to a processing means. The processing means receives the sensor readings from the sensor means and correlates the sensor readings with data identifying a plurality of projects thereby determining the appropriate project to which the printed document belongs.
