摘要： A fire-proofing protective covering for an elongate structure such as a hose, an electrical or optical cable, or pneumatic or hydraulic ducting, comprises: a first plurality of layers made of an inorganic material having a structure which is suitable for imprisoning air while still allowing the operation of the elongate structure to be maintained at relatively high temperatures, of the order of at least 850.degree. C., and for a given length of time, of the order of at least several minutes, and a second plurality of layers, with each of the layers being disposed alternately relative to each of the layers of the first plurality so that the layers of the first plurality are on the inside while the layers of the second plurality are made of a material which substantially constitutes a barrier for the air imprisoned in the corresponding layer of the first plurality. The invention is applicable to the opto-electrical industry, to the hydraulic industry, etc. . . . for protecting ducting from fire.

摘要： A cassette for a device for continuously casting liquid metal between two parallel rolls, the cassette includes a metal case which has a lateral wall and is open on a side of the case, and plate of refractory material which may be preheated before casting the liquid metal. The refractory plate is preshaped in such a manner so to define a free space between the periphery of the plate and the lateral wall of the case. The cassette is provided with an arrangement for fixing and gripping the plate and exerting an elastically yieldable opposing action allowing free expansion of the plate within the case.

摘要： The surface of each roll (2, 3) has a knurling constituted by two series of parallel grooves (5, 6) which are inclined to the axis (XX) of the roll and joining up at the center of the latter so as to form a series of chevrons, the two grooves (5, 6) of each chevron downwardly converging when they are on the side of the roll (2, 3) in contact with the liquid metal. The device is completed by a cage for extracting the cast product at a speed slightly higher than the speed of rotation of the casting rolls (2, 3). This arrangement avoids the formation of longitudinal or transverse cracks on the surface of the cast thin metal strip.

摘要： In a method for stabilizing the size of a focal spot of an X-ray tube and contrast modulation function of a X-ray tube, the tube has a cathode comprising a concentrator and a heating filament. It has an anode is placed so as to be facing the cathode. With the filament, the cathode produces an electron beam bombarding the focal spot of the anode. A bias voltage is applied between a terminal of the filament and a terminal of the concentrator. The tube has means to measure the size of the focal spot and the function of contrast modulation. It also has means to regulate the size of the focal spot and the contrast modulation function by means of a bias voltage.
