    摘要: The present invention relates to a test specimen for testing the through-thickness properties of a fiber-reinforced composite material. The specimen comprises a first loading portion having a first longitudinal axis in a first plane and a second loading portion having a second longitudinal axis in a second plane. The first and second planes are substantially parallel and the first and second axes are oblique. The first and second loading portions partially overlap to form a test gauge portion that is integral with the first and second loading portions. The first loading portion extends beyond the test gauge portion in opposite directions along the first axis and the second loading portion extends beyond the gauge portion in opposite directions along the second axis. This allows a force be applied to the test gauge portion through the first and second loading portions.

    摘要: A method for making a hybrid component comprises the steps of placing a lower shell in the lower half of an RTM form tool; placing layers of composite fabric on top of the lower shell to define a composite core; placing an upper shell on top of the layers; closing the RTM form tool; infiltrating the composite fabric with resin; curing the resin. At least one of the lower and upper shells comprises pins projecting generally perpendicularly to its surface, and the pins penetrate the composite fabric.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a test specimen (11) for testing the through-thickness properties of a fibre-reinforced composite material. The specimen comprises a first loading portion (10) having a first longitudinal axis in a first plane and a second loading portion (20) having a second longitudinal axis in a second plane. The first and second planes are substantially parallel and the first and second axes are oblique. The first and second loading portions (10, 20) partially overlap to form a test gauge portion (30) that is integral with the first and second loading portions (10, 20). The first loading portion (10) extends beyond the test gauge portion (30) in opposite directions along the first axis and the second loading portion (20) extends beyond the gauge portion (30) in opposite directions along the second axis. This allows a force be applied to the test gauge portion through the first and second loading portions.

A region of analysis on an image of gingival tissue may be divided into pixels. Each pixel may have an associated color made up of component R, G and B values.     摘要: This invention is an improvement upon the basic adaptive signal processors, the Multi-Stage Wiener Filter and the cascaded canceller. The invention combines the concepts of soft weighting the adaptive weights of either type of processor disclosed herein with reiteratively processing the outputs by returning them to the input of the chosen adaptive signal processor. The combination of these functions improves the Signal to Interference plus Noise Ratio (SINR), the Probability of Detection (Pd), and/or the Bit Error Rate (BER). The invention improves statistical convergence of these types of metrics such that fewer training data samples are needed to achieve a particular satisfactory value of these metrics than would occur using traditional computational adaptive signal processors.
