Information associated with advertisements is acquired. The advertisements include one of regional advertisements and national advertisements. The method also includes determining the advertisements to be aired during the commercial breaks based on the information acquired and scheduling playing of the advertisements during commercial breaks. The system includes a user interface for providing information associated with commercial breaks and advertisements. The system also includes a media server for managing insertion of the advertisements. Further, the system includes one or more edge devices for fetching of the advertisements based on a schedule and inserting the advertisements for playing on the television or radio channel.
Abstract:
The use of a mobile device with a merchant application may enable the merchant to turn the mobile device into a point-of-sale terminal that interfaces with a server. The server may receive from the mobile device a transaction via a network, in which the transaction includes transaction details for a purchase request made by a customer. In turn, the server may transmit a transaction token that identifies the transaction to the mobile device of the merchant. Subsequently, the server may receive the transaction token from a client device of the customer. The transaction token being transmitted from the mobile device to the client device using a short range communication that is independent of the network. After receiving the transaction token, the server may provide the transaction details of the transaction that matches the transaction token to the client device for display so that the customer may pay for the transaction.
Abstract:
Various embodiments of the invention are directed to methods and systems for high capacity OFDM transmitters and receivers. For example, various embodiments of the transmitter may utilize an architecture comprised of a multiplicity of baseband processing subsystems for receiving and modulating user input data from the respective groups of users, a subsystem for the generation of an OFDM signal comprised of a multiplicity of OFDM signals with spectrum sharing, and a baseband to RF conversion subsystem. Various embodiments of the receiver may utilize an architecture comprised of a multicarrier demodulator, a vector splitter, an inverse transform unit, and an interference mitigating symbol detection subsystem.
Abstract:
Various embodiments described herein are directed to methods and systems for multibeam adaptive antenna architectures for recovering user signals in the coverage area of the antenna in the presence of interference sources. For example, various embodiments may utilize an architecture comprised of an array of antenna feeds, an RF to baseband conversion subsystem, a bank of digital beamformers, a channelization subsystem, a bank of weighted combiners, and a bank of demodulators for the demodulation and detection of user signals. The multiple beamformers introduce nulls in the direction of interference sources based on distinct adaptive algorithms for providing different antenna beam patterns after adaptation. Various other embodiments may utilize architecture for providing the directions of the interference sources or intentional jammers.
Abstract:
A system and method for integrating a media plan and a targeted advertisement into a television or a radio channel. The system includes a user interface for receiving a media plan and a television program schedule. The system also includes a media server to integrate the television program schedule and the targeted advertisement based on the media plan and to generate a Mark-in and a Mark-out montage. The system further includes one or more edge devices for fetching the targeted advertisement, detecting the Mark-in and the Mark-out montage and inserting the targeted advertisement into the television channel. The method includes receiving a media plan from an advertiser. The method also includes selecting a television channel by the advertiser. The method further includes scheduling of a targeted advertisement. Furthermore, the method includes fetching and inserting the targeted advertisement for playing on the television channel based on the media plan.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method are disclosed that can adapt off-the shelf PDA devices (90) to user input/output applications such as data entry applications and cellular phone applications. The resulting apparatus (10) may be sized and shaped to be durable and facilitate handheld operation when the user is mobile during use. The apparatus provides features required for portable data entry such as key entry, barcode scanning, radio frequency identification, and wireless local area network (LAN) as well as wide area network (WAN) communications. The apparatus may be operated (a) in a slave mode with inclusion of a PDA device (90) for use in certain input/output operations that are processor intensive as well as (b) in a stand-alone mode without inclusion of a PDA device (90) for use in certain other input/output operations that are not processor intensive.
Abstract:
A system and method for tracking of advertisements. The system includes a user interface for accessing information associated with commercial breaks and advertisements. The system also includes one or more edge devices for recording advertisements aired during commercial breaks on a television or radio channel. Further, the system includes a media server. The media server includes a memory, and a processor for storing recorded advertisements along with a stamp of region, channel, program and time of insertion associated with the advertisements in a repository of a media server, and providing access to the recorded advertisements for the advertisers. The method includes recording advertisements aired during commercial breaks on the television or the radio channel, storing recorded advertisements along with a stamp of region, channel, program and time of insertion associated with the advertisements in a repository of a media server, and providing access to the recorded advertisements for the advertisers.
Abstract:
A grid computing system is disclosed. The grid computing system includes one or more printer nodes representing distributed print resources, an information repository, and a grid distributed resource manager. Continuing, the information repository includes printer attributes associated with the printer nodes. Further, the grid distributed resource manager provides a virtual printer to a user based on the distributed print resources. Also, the grid distributed resource manager accepts and assigns print jobs submitted to the virtual printer by the user.
Abstract:
A system for remote control of live TV capability for TV screens, the system comprising satellite feeds (2003) broadcasting means (2002, 2004), a set top box (2005), a Smart-IB box (2006) capable of sending and receiving data/content, a central server capable of interpreting received data/content from Smart-IB, a communication network having interactive means coupled with world wide web (2008), a display screen (2007) having display means operable to display data/information.
