摘要： Portable compact disk storage systems that are designed to hold one or more circular compacts disks. The storage systems may be made as a single molded plastic embodiment or a two-part molded plastic embodiment. An exemplary compact disk storage system comprises a lower housing having a plurality of slots formed along one side thereof that are sized to receive individual compact disks therein, and a frictional pad disposed on the plurality of slots. The frictional pad provides a frictional surface that assists removal of the compact disks from the storage system. An upper housing is coupled to the lower housing by way of a living hinge. A locking mechanism is provided for locking the lower and upper housings together when the storage system is closed.

摘要： A load management system which includes a central message generator and a plurality of addressable remote load controllers which selectively connect and disconnect high power deferrable loads to and from a power source in response to transmitted messages. The load controllers include means for translating coded tone pair inputs into digital data. Tones selected from three such tone pairs are used in one scheme, where a tone selected from the first tone pair is used for the initial bit of a message, and subsequent tones are alternately selected from the remaining two tone pairs or the remaining bits. One of the tones of the first tone pair is utilized as a test tone which initiates a test routine sequence. The test tone can be transmitted by a portable, low power transmitter to test the functioning of the remote units. A message format includes two code sets, a zone code set and a command/address code set. Each load controller has a preprogrammed zone identifier and a preprogrammed address identifier, and is responsive to a command/address code message only when the last received zone code message has identified the preprogrammed zone identifier of that load controller and the command/address message indicates the preprogrammed address identifier of that load controller. All load controllers having a common zone identifier are responsive to a scram instruction message which identifies that zone.

摘要： A compact disk labeling, cleaning and repairing system for use in applying an adhesive label to a surface of a compact disk, and for cleaning and repairing a readable surface of a compact disk. In an exemplary system, a top portion is used for labeling the compact disk and has a side wall with a shape that matches the shape of the compact disk and a flat shelf that forms an upper cavity. A plurality of tabs are formed around the periphery of the side wall that hold the compact disk above the label prior to attachment and which register the compact disk. The flat shelf has a plurality of slots therein that form a plurality of tabs, and a plurality of vertical projections extend away from the tabs to form a hub. The hub is sized to allow a central hole in the adhesive label to register thereto. The slots allow the tabs or hub to flex during application of the label. A bottom portion of the system may be used to clean and repair the compact disk. One or more pads are disposed on a lower surface the flat shelf that contact a non-readable surface of the compact disk and prevent substantial movement thereof during cleaning. The side wall adjacent the lower surface (or a central member) has a frictional or toothed surface. A cleaning tool comprises a rotatable cleaning member having a cleaning pad disposed thereon that contacts the compact disk is used with cleaning or repair solution to clean or repair the compact disk. The pad contacts and rotates relative to the frictional or toothed surface of the side wall (or central member) while the pad contacts the surface of the compact disk to clean or repair it.

A flexible foam disk may be attached to an interior surface of the lid that is disposed around the label hub. Another embodiment includes a base having a generally flat upper surface. A central spindle protrudes slightly above the upper surface of the base that holds the compact disk by means of its central hole. A rotatable lid is attached to the base by means of a hinge and has a generally flat surface 23 with an inner tab section and an outer section that flex relative to each other. A cylindrically-shaped compact disk label hub protrudes from the inner tab section to hold the adhesive label. In another embodiment of the system, the compact disk is held by means of an outer edge holding mechanism instead of the central hub The outer edge holding mechanism may be provided by a plurality of bosses or tabs, a single circular lip or recess, or portions of a circular lip.

摘要： In combination, a computer and removable paper holder. The paper holder is adapted to be removably mounted on a computer, preferably on a portable or notebook computer display screen, for securing a sheet of paper adjacent thereto. The holder is made of flexible plastic and includes a body having a pair of end edges and a pair of side edges. A pair of spaced legs extend outwardly from one side edge of the body adjacent the end edges. A central flange extends outwardly from the body and is centrally positioned intermediate the legs. The body is in a planar configuration for ease of storage and transporting but is flexed into a bowed arcuate configuration when mounted on a portable computer display screen. When flexed into this arcuate configuration, the screen edge is interposed between the central flange and the respective legs. A resilient clip is formed integrally with the body and located centrally thereon to hold a paper sheet against the body. A pair of paper alignment tabs are also formed on the body and are positioned adjacent each leg to align and support an edge of the paper with respect to the computer screen.

摘要： A multi-band radio receiver is disclosed for automatically and sequentially tuning to a plurality of discreet, separate preselected frequencies. The receiver incorporates a phase locked loop frequency synthesizer which includes two separate voltage tuned oscillators alternately operative according to the band of operation of the receiver. Channels are selected by inserting metal combs having teeth removed to form a binary coded memory into corresponding sockets in the receiver. One comb is used for each of the channels to which the receiver can tune. By replacing a specific comb with an alternate comb, the channel to which the receiver tunes can be correspondingly changed. The combs are made of relatively brittle aluminum in order that they may be readily programmed to the appropriate binary coded decimal arrangement of pins. Programming is accomplished by the simple bending and breaking of the appropriate teeth on the comb to achieve the desired binary coded information to achieve tuning to the desired frequency.
