    摘要: An implantable system comprises a housing that includes a flexible reservoir. The flexible reservoir is coupled to an inflatable portion of a gastric band via a fluid inlet/outlet. The flexible reservoir contains a fluid and has an expanded configuration and a contracted configuration. An access port may be coupled to the flexible reservoir and/or the gastric band to facilitate filling and draining the reservoir and/or the gastric band. A movable wall is slidably positioned around the flexible reservoir to move the flexible reservoir between the expanded configuration and the contracted configuration to move the fluid into and out of the inflatable portion of the gastric band. A driving mechanism is positioned around the movable wall and is capable of changing the size of the movable wall to compress or expand the flexible reservoir. A motor, coupled to the driving mechanism, may actuate the driving mechanism.

    摘要: A marking system is disclosed that enables a user to lay out a foundation/perimeter for a structure without requiring the use of measuring instruments and/or complex procedures. The system includes six wire-like premeasured members that are releasably attached to specially designed corner members. The system is laid out with four of the wire-like members enclosing a square or rectangular area with their ends attached to the corner members. The remaining two wire-like members diagonally cross the enclosed area and each is attached at its ends to opposite corner members. When the diagonals intersect at their midpoints, the user is assured that the corners form right angles. Each of the diagonally placed members preferably includes a marking band at its midpoint to facilitate the locating of the midpoints by a user.

    摘要: A low part count blower-motor assembly in a two-part housing which defines fluid inlet and discharge openings for the blower but which is otherwise sealed when assembled. An integrated tubular stator subassembly is fixedly attached to one of the housing parts and projects axially toward the fluid inlet opening. An integrated motor rotor subassembly is also disposed within the housing for rotation about the stator subassembly in coaxial relationship therewith, a part of the rotor subassembly being disposed axially between the stator and the inlet opening in spaced relationship with the opening. A shaft is journaled in the central opening of the tubular stator subassembly and projects axially there from toward the inlet opening and a fluid impeller mounted on the projecting end portion of the shaft receives fluid from the inlet opening. The impeller is also fixedly attached to the part of the rotor which resides between the stator and inlet opening.

    摘要: Digital data utilization apparatus includes a datastrip reader for reading digital data encoded on one or more datastrips on an application insert. Disclosed is a system for guiding a user in orienting the application insert relative to the datastrip reader so that the datastrips are read in the correct sequence. The digital data utilization apparatus includes an electronic display which displays messages to prompt the user in correctly orienting the application insert relative to the reader. The apparatus also includes guide marks which align with marks on the insert, to further assist the user. Preferably, the application insert also includes a membrane touch pad which overlays a membrane touch pad on the digital data utilization device. The guidance system of the invention (1) minimizes the number of steps required by the user to correctly orient the datastrips to be read by the reader and (2) finishes the guidance sequence so that the touch pad on the application insert overlays the touch pad on the digital data utilization apparatus.
