摘要: Disclosed is a device for treating physiological disorders by the application of pressure and a method of using such a device. The device comprises a mounting having two clamping members which are movable with respect to one another for clamping a portion of the human body therebetween. At least one of these members terminates in a blunt surface which is adapted to apply pressure to a selected point on the surface of that portion of the body. A biasing mechanism such as a spring is provided for applying a clamping force to retain the clamping members biased toward one another. In one embodiment the blunt surface projects from a shoulder which prevents the surface from penetrating the skin on the application of pressure thereto. The blunt surface has a surface area large enough such that specific points of the body may be stimulated without penetrating the skin and yet small enough such that undesired points will not be stimulated. Additionally, a method is disclosed for using such a device for the treatment of disorders by the application of pressure to the external ear. The method includes the selecting of the desired point to which pressure is to be applied from an acupuncture/acupressure map of the ear. The blunt surface is then positioned adjacent the selected point and stimulation is effected by the application of pressure to the point through the blunt surface.

摘要: Various probes which are adapted to measure the liquid level in a vessel including the flow rate through a channel comprise a conductive probe electrode and guard electrode means including a rear portion located between the wall of the vessel and the probe electrode and a lateral portion extending outwardly from the lateral extremities of the probe electrode. The probe electrode and the guard electrode means are separated by interior solid insulation and an exterior solid insulation covers the probe so as to separate the guard electrode means and the probe electrode from the conductive liquid. By driving the guard electrode means at substantially the same potential as the probe electrode, the portion of a conductive coating which has accumulated at the lateral portions of the guard electrode means may be capacitively coupled to the potential of the guard electrode means thereby reducing the adverse effect of a conductive coating which has accumulated at the probe electrode.

摘要: The invention includes a variety of adaptors for forming enclosures and other apparatus from sectioned integral containers. Each adaptor described includes suitable means such as a channel structure for attaching the adaptor to the sectioned open end of an integral container. The adaptor itself may form an enclosure with the container, or, in other embodiments, join the attached, sectioned container portion with another container sectio or other form of closure. The described adaptors are particularly designed for use with cylindrical plastic beverage container assemblies including an integral, dome bottom, cylindrically shaped container and container base piece adapted to receive and support the dome end of the container. A number of plant irrigation devices are described formed by sectioned portions of conventional integral containers and special adaptors of the invention.

摘要: A slip case package for small articles includes a sleeve member and a drawer being slideably mounted therein. The sleeve member is formed by first providing a blank of relatively lightweight cardboard with graphic designs formed thereon. The blank is formed into a partially assembled sleeve portion and reinforcing member is inserted therein. The reinforced sleeve member has sufficient rigidity to act as a slip case package sleeve, but the graphics may be provided thereon with machine operations and with perfect alignment.
