The method employs the steps of pressurizing a conditioning vessel with gaseous natural gas at a first pressure, feeding liquefied natural gas at a second pressure greater than the first pressure to a condenser in heat transfer relationship with the conditioning vessel, and withdrawing the liquefied natural gas from the condenser.

摘要: Methods of separating volatile organic and/or gaseous inorganic components from a gas mixture, comprising subjecting the gas mixture to a cryocondensation process and an adsorption process to separate the volatile organic and/or gaseous inorganic components. The adsorption process utilizes at least two parallel adsorbers running alternately through adsorption and desorption phases. A regeneration gas used for the desorption phase is added to the gas mixture prior to the cryocondensation process. Temperature of the condensation process may be varied.

摘要: An impingement freezer having a zoned freezing chamber in which the temperature of each zone is independently controllable so that the temperature profile within the impingement freezer is coldest at a zone adjacent the outlet and warmest at a zone adjacent the inlet for maximum thermodynamic usage of the refrigerant. Additionally, the velocity of each of the impingement jets is independently adjustable from zone to zone so that in the zone adjacent the entrance of the freezing chamber, the impingement jets can be adjusted to have maximum velocity to produce maximum heat transfer coefficients and thereby an acceptable rate of cooling within the impingement jet freezer. Impingement jets are formed within nozzles that are tapered in two orthogonal directions to prevent frost build-up. Circulation within the impingement jet freezer is produced by venturi-like devices driven by vaporization of incoming refrigerant.

摘要: A process and system for removing condensable vapors contained within the gas stream in accordance with the process and system, condensable vapors contained within the gas stream are condensed within one or more condensers through indirect heat exchange of the gas stream with a refrigerant stream. This produces a refrigerated gas stream and a heated refrigerant gas stream. Further heat is exchanged from at least part of the heated refrigerant stream to the refrigerated gas stream and in economizing heat exchanger to form a cooled refrigerant stream from the heated refrigerant stream. The refrigeration stream is produced by combining a cryogenic stream with the at least part of the cooled refrigerant stream in a mixing chamber of an ejector or analogous equipment.

摘要: A freezer having a freezing compartment and a porous conveyor belt for conveying articles through the freezing compartment. A vaporizer is provided to vaporize a stream of liquid cryogen. Vaporized cryogen is directed against the belt as a plurality of jets to blow accumulated ice off the belt. The vaporizer is located within the freezing compartment so that the cooling potential of the cryogen is not wasted and the vaporizer can serve as a preferential condensation site for the moisture.

摘要: The present invention provides a level detector to sense whether the level of a liquid having a nonambient temperature such as a cryogenic liquid has reached a predetermined point. A stainless steel type T thermocouple probe is provided for generating a temperature signal referrable to absolute temperature. A high thermal conductivity the type T thermocouple probe is adapted to be mounted so that it submerges in the liquid when the level of the liquid has reached the predetermined point tube is, at one end, in good thermal contact with a thermocouple contained within distal end of the thermocouple probe and, at the other end, is exposed to ambient conditions. The high thermal conductivity tube acts to conduct heat between the ambient and the thermocouple. A thermally insulating tube encapsulates the copper tube between its ends so that heat is not dissipated along its length and the temperature signal will be function of a sum of the nonambient temperature of the liquid and a constant divided by a convective heat transfer, which will increase in the liquid. As a result, the temperature signal will change upon submergence of the thermocouple within the liquid to indicate that the liquid has reached the point level detector.

摘要: A method of steps for decanting a cryogenic fluid from a storage tank that is in fluid communication with a back pressure regulator and a decant dewar. A minimum pressure is set for the back pressure regulator and a cryogenic fluid is fed from the storage tank to the back pressure regulator. When the pressure of the cryogenic fluid exceeds the minimum pressure set for the back pressure regulator, the cryogenic fluid is fed to the decant dewar. This flow will continue until the storage tank is essentially empty. The gas generated by this depressurization will be fed to an exit valve where it can be flared or recovered by the operator for additional uses.

摘要: A method for removing gas from a storage vessel and returning it along with a liquid feed to the vessel. The gas such as natural gas is withdrawn from the storage vessel and fed to a venturi device where it is combined with a feed of liquid to the venturi device. The gas will combine with the liquid feed in the venturi device while the pressure in the storage vessel will be decreased thereby reducing the need for venting and increasing efficiency of the storage vessel.
