Light enters the Abbe prism lens and reflects off the front bottom reflecting surface, reflects off the left top reflecting surface and the right top reflecting surface, reflects off the rear bottom reflecting surface, and exits the rear lens of the Abbe prism lens.

A light diffusing pattern is disposed on a light emitting surface. The light diffusing pattern comprises a plurality of notches that are smallest closest to the LED light sources and largest in the center of the light guide bar. A light reflecting pattern is disposed on a light reflecting surface opposite the light diffusing pattern on the light emitting surface. Light emitted by the LED light sources enters the light guide bar through the ends. The light travels through the light guide bar at various angles and is reflected by the light reflecting pattern on the light reflecting surface. The reflected light is then emitted through the light diffusing pattern on the light emitting surface.

A patterned surface on the surface of the light pipe opposite the light emitting surface reflects light. The plurality of heat pipe assemblies comprise heatsinks and heat pipes. The heat pipes are hollow pipes that are filled with a liquid such as water or coolant and cooperate with the heatsinks to dissipate heat.

A flickerless light source comprising a transparent or semitransparent diffuser, a lightpipe with a patterned surface inside the diffuser, and an LED light source attached to each end of the lightpipe is disclosed. The patterned surface of the lightpipe diffuses or reflects light emitted by the LED light sources and through the lightpipe to provide a light with uniform brightness and intensity. The lightpipe is coated with a thin layer of visible-light transparent material which is doped with organic dye molecules. The organic dye has strong ultraviolet light absorption characteristics. By changing the doping concentration of the dye molecules the coating can become total opaque or semi-transparent to certain wavelengths and selective wavelength conversion is obtained. In this way light color, brightness, and intensity can be varied or controlled.

An optical lens array featuring low cost and simple manufacture. The lens array has two lens sections separated by spacers, with a stop on the front surface. An optional wraparound frame protects the lens array from external light. The spacers and stop, as well as the optional frame, are made of black polymer to block unwanted scattered or external light. The lens sections, stop, spacers, and frame can all be made by injection-molding. Notches, locating holes, posts, and ears serve to orient and align the parts, and to prevent incorrect assembly.

A linear light source having an indented reflecting plane comprises a light guide bar and a light source component. The light guide bar is a polygonal cylinder having an arc-shaped plane. Any two opposed surfaces of the cylinder are an indented reflecting plane and an arc-shaped emission place, respectively. The other surfaces are composed of a plurality of reflecting layers. Through controlling the light-emission slope and height of the indented reflecting plane, the light will be more uniform. The brightness can also be enhanced through the light collecting effect of the arc-shaped emission plane. Moreover, the light source component can let the light emission angle of each LED be closer to accomplish a shorter useless region through the arrangement of the LEDs.
