摘要： The CPU of a test apparatus sends, to a subject test board, a test command containing an address in an address space where circuit blocks of the subject test board are mapped and a command code specifying an operation to be performed to the address. Test program executed by the CPU of the subject test board allow the CPU to extract the address and the command code included in the test command from the test apparatus and then to perform the operation specified by the command code to the address.

摘要： An optical fiber includes an entrance face that is optically coupleable with a device for transmitting a light beam through the optical fiber. The entrance face includes a core region and a cladding region surrounding the core region. The cladding region is at least partially covered with a coating, which is made of metal, for example. That is, the coating is formed over a whole area of the cladding region or the coating is formed on an area of the cladding region defined in a vicinity of the core region. The coating has a mirror surface to increase the reflectivity thereof and enhances the reflectivity of the entrance face.

摘要： An optical communication device includes a light source that emits a light beam and an optical fiber having a core and a cladding. The optical fiber has a light entrance face having a core region and a cladding region. The light beam emitted by the light source is converged by a converging lens on the core region and is transmitted through the optical fiber. The entrance face is configured to generate a light intensity distribution in light reflected by the light entrance face depending on a position where the light beam is incident on the entrance face, a converging lens arranged between the light source and the optical fiber.

摘要： Disclosed is an optical system for an optical disk drive for reading/writing data from/in an optical disk. The optical system includes a light source emitting a parallel laser beam, a deflector having a rotatable mirror surface. The parallel laser beam emitted by the light source is incident on the mirror surface of the deflector and is deflected towards an objective lens system which faces the optical disk. A relay lens system is provided between the deflector and the objective lens system such that the mirror surface and a front principal plane of the objective lens system have a substantially conjugate relationship.

摘要： Disclosed is an optical disc drive. The optical disc drive is provided with an arm member carrying an objective optical system and a light emitting system. The arm member is rotatable about an axis at one end portion thereof. On the other end portion of the arm member, the objective optical system is mounted. A detecting system is further provided for receiving light reflected by the optical disc via the objective optical system. The detecting system detects data related to an orientation of a beam spot formed by the reflected beam on its light receiving surface. Further provided is a control system which determines a current position of the arm member based on the data related to the orientation of the beam spot.
