    摘要: A first component, executing using a processor and a memory in a first data processing system, receives a diagnostic heartbeat packet from a second component executing in a second data processing system, wherein the diagnostic heartbeat packet is a packet comprising a header, a set of heartbeat parameters, and a set of diagnostic attributes. The first component determines, using a value of a diagnostic attribute in the diagnostic heartbeat packet, that a first communication link between the first and the second data processing systems is usable but includes a soft network error, wherein a soft network error condition is a network error condition that adversely affects transmission of packets having certain properties in the data communication network. The first component re-routes a synchronization message from the first component to the second component using a second communication link between the first and the second data processing systems.

    摘要: An apparatus and computer-readable medium for securely maintaining communications network connection data is disclosed. According to one embodiment, an apparatus is disclosed according to which a user is prompted for network element address substitution data which specifies a substitute network element address for a network element address associated with a network element of a first communications network. The network element address substitution data is then stored within a first storage element, wherein access to the first storage element outside of the first communications network is restricted. Connection monitor data associated with the first communications network is processed utilizing the network element address substitution data. According to the described embodiment, such connection monitor data processing includes a means for identifying metadata of the connection monitor data which specifies the described network element address, and a means for substituting the metadata with metadata which specifies the substitute network element address.
