Abstract:
A nuclear reactor scram control system for a nuclear reactor includes a solenoid pilot valve (SSPV). The SSPV includes a solenoid indicator light electrically coupled to an SSPV solenoid of the SSPV. The solenoid indicator light may be selectively activated based on an energization state of the SSPV solenoid, thereby providing an immediate and visually observable indication of the SSPV energization state. The immediate and visually observable indication of the SSPV energization state may enable quicker and more reliable verification of SSPV solenoid energization state. As a result, operator radiation exposure associated with verification may be reduced, and a risk of inadvertent nuclear reactor scram based on a de-energized SSPV solenoid may be reduced, thus streamlined nuclear reactor operations.
Abstract:
A mobile computing device may include an interface device, a near field communication (NFC) device, and a processor coupled with the interface device and the NFC device. The processor may be capable of detecting proximity of an encasement based upon the NFC device, and changing an operational mode of the interface device based upon detecting the proximity of the encasement.
Abstract:
A public address system is set forth, comprising at least one wireless mobile communication device; a sound system; and a back-end system for selectively receiving a wireless signal from the wireless mobile communication device and transmitting the signal to the sound system for broadcast.
Abstract:
A method of activating security functions on a computer device, for example a mobile communications device. The computer device includes a device state that may be realized by way of a first user input or a second user input. The method includes designating the first user input to realize the device state as a security rule having an associated security function, detecting realization of the device state, and activating the associated security function if the device state was realized by way of the second user input rather than the first user input. For example, the first user input may be a shortcut input, and the second user input may be a conventional or normal input.
Abstract:
A system and method to automatically park a voice call on a mobile electronic device so that the device can receive data, comprising a switch for establishing a voice call at the at least one caller device, a database for storing at least one call processing rule, and an enterprise data server for receiving a data message, comparing contents of the data message with at least one rule in the database, and in the event that the contents match the rule then parking the call, switching the mobile electronic device to a data mode of operation, downloading the data message to the device and un-parking the call.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a system and method for facilitating short-range wireless communications between a mobile wireless device and an auxiliary device. The wireless device includes a short-range transceiver for communicating with an auxiliary device; a signal module for providing a mode control signal; and, a control module for controllably shifting a short-range transceiver between a power saver mode and a search mode based on the mode control signal received from the signal module. When in the search mode, the short-range transceiver is operable to search for the auxiliary device to communicate therewith. When in a power saver mode, the short-range transceiver is not operable to search for the auxiliary device.
Abstract:
A queuing method and system for wireless/LAN routers processes and routes an incoming data packet from a wireless mobile network to a destination server. The system uses a wireless transport module to initiate storage of the data packet in a permanent storage device while simultaneously forwarding the data packet to the destination server. A database thread is used to manage the operations being performed on the data packet and for initiating the storage of the data packet in a permanent storage device based on a permanent storage queue. A main thread is used to simultaneously forward the data packet to the destination server. The wireless transport module is adapted to determine whether the data packet has been acknowledged by the destination server and aborting the storage of the data packet in the permanent storage device once acknowledgment from by destination server has been received.
Abstract:
A method of transferring data to a portable electronic device includes providing a link for pushing data to the portable electronic device, receiving a selection of the push link, receiving an identifier of the portable electronic device for delivery of the data thereto, and transmitting the data to the portable electronic device.
Abstract:
A method apparatus and system for assembling meeting data to update a calendar database are provided, based on meeting request data including meeting invitees and a given time period, and further based on availability data from at least one availability database. Availability data associated with each meeting invitee is processed to determine availability of each meeting invitee during the given time period, and determine at least one unavailable invitee that is unavailable during the given time period. Reporting structure data is processed, from a reporting structure, to determine a respective alternate invitee for each at least one unavailable invitee. Availability data associated with each alternate invitee is processed to determine whether each alternate invitee is available during the given time period. If so, meeting data is assembled, for storage in the calendar database, the meeting data including respective identifiers of meeting invitees available during the given time period and of each alternate invitee, and meeting data is caused to be stored in the calendar database.
Abstract:
A system and a method (100, 500) for integrating an uncertified client (104) with a certified host device (102) are provided. The integration system (100) is configured to integrate the uncertified client (104), which has a plurality of client applications (106), with the certified host device (102), and has a client virtual machine (108), host applications (142), and an abstraction layer (138, 156). The client virtual machine (108) is coupled to the uncertified client (104) and is configured to execute the plurality of client applications (106). The host applications (142) are coupled to the certified host device (102) and are configured to control host dependent features on the certified host device (102). The abstraction layer (138, 156) are coupled to the host applications (142) and to the client virtual machine (108), and are configured to translate feature calls from the plurality of client applications (106) to function calls for the host applications (142).
