Abstract:
A method of controlling a washing machine, capable of detecting clothes contained in the washing machine by rotating a drum. The method includes supplying a predetermined amount of water when a barrel cleaning is executed, soaking an interior of a drum in water, draining water after the interior of the drum has been soaked in the water, and detecting clothes contained in the drum by rotating the drum. Whether to perform a barrel cleaning is determined according to the existence of the clothes in the drum, so that vibration and noise are prevented from being generated in the washing machine, and accident due to the movement of the washing machine is prevented.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for controlling a focus servo of an optical disk drive is provided. The focus servo controlling method includes the operations of, when an operating mode enters into a focus pull-in mode, detecting a period of time that satisfies a first threshold condition, the first threshold condition set to determine a duration in which a focal point of an optical signal emitted from a pickup is passing through a cover layer of a disk, the determination made by using a first signal proportional to a detected portion of an optical signal reflected by the disk, and preventing focus servo control from being performed during a detected period of time that first satisfies the first threshold condition since the operating mode entered into the focus pull-in mode.
Abstract:
A shifting system is provided which comprises a transmission, a driver interface, and an inhibitor switch actuating module. The transmission is configured to receive a rotational force and to realize a predetermined shifting ratio, and it has an inhibitor switch. The driver interface module generates a target shift range signal corresponding to a shift range that is selected by a driver. The inhibitor switch actuating module is connected through a real-time communication bus to the driver interface module, and it actuates the inhibitor switch based on a current inhibitor switch position and the target shift range signal input from the driver interface module.
Abstract:
A direct-type backlight assembly for a liquid crystal display device includes a lower case, a plurality of lamps disposed over a first surface of the lower case, a plurality of optical sheets disposed over the first surface of the lower case, and a lamp guide disposed on the first surface of the lower case, the lamp guide including a plate parallel to and disposed on the first surface of the lower case, a sheet supporting portion formed on a first surface of the plate to support the optical sheets, a plurality of lamp holders formed on the first surface of the plate to affix the plurality of lamps therein, and a case connector connected to a second surface of the plate and having a plurality of protrusions facing the second surface of the plate.
Abstract:
A washing machine and a control method thereof in which a tub washing course is safely performed using a sensor to measure vibration of a tub. Since whether or not laundry is present in s drum is sensed while performing the tub washing course, consumption of separate time, water, and energy to sense whether or not laundry is present is not required, and operation of the washing machine is controlled by diagnosing malfunction of the sensor. If plural sensors are installed, a micro-computer is connected to the plural sensors in common through a Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) communication method or an Inter Integrated circuit (I2C) communication method, thereby reducing costs and volume of wire-harness.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are a washing machine and a method of controlling the same that are capable of removing bubbles from a door after washing. The washing machine includes a drum and a door to open and close the drum. The method of controlling the washing machine includes determining whether the present operation is a spin-drying operation, and, when the present operation is the spin-drying operation, supplying water to the door to remove residual bubbles from the door.
Abstract:
In a dynamic Java push controlling apparatus and method, a midlet is downloaded into a mobile terminal to perform a corresponding service. When there is a service connection request using a Java push technique, a midlet is downloaded dynamically in order to respond immediately to a corresponding service. Accordingly, users can conveniently use various services using the Java push mechanism between mobile terminals in which J2ME or other Java-based software is installed.
Abstract:
3D glasses which can individually acquire information according to 3D content that users view. The 3D glasses include a transparent display unit displaying at least one of information on 3D content and a control screen for controlling a 3D display device on a 3D glasses unit, a transmission/reception unit receiving at least one of the information on the 3D content and the control screen for controlling the 3D display device from the 3D display device and transmitting the received signal to the transparent display unit, and a control unit controlling the transparent display unit to display the information on the 3D content or the control screen for controlling the 3D display device.
