摘要: A tapered core waveguide which may be configured as a spectral component splitter, a spectral component combiner, and various combinations thereof including a reflective mode of operation. The tapered core waveguide has an aperture and cladding, and is dimensioned such that radiant energy admitted into the core via the aperture and having at least two spectral components would be emitted via the cladding at a location dependent on its frequency and/or its polarization, and that a plurality of spectral components injected to the core via the cladding will be mixed and emitted via the aperture.

摘要: An automatic documentation generation and management system and method, for documenting configurable systems such as complex software applications and hardware systems is disclosed. The method retrieves configuration parameters from the configurable system and utilizes them to automatically generate an explanatory document specific to the configured system. The invention also discloses a documentation appliance system, which is a dedicated documentation server coupled to the configurable system via a communication network, preferably via an Intranet. In yet another alternative, the invention may be practiced by integrating code for automatic documentation generation within the configurable system program.

摘要: A device to warn a ship crew of submerged objects in their immediate vicinity, combined with alarm and logging facilities. The device is composed of one or more sonic or ultra sonic transducers placed aboard the ship, with coverage arranged so as to give surrounding "envelope" to the sides and to the area ahead of the vessel, as well as some predetermined downward looking angle. The transducer or transducers are connected to an electronic distance measuring device that will measure distance to possible obstacles, similar to conventional sonar techniques. The measurements in each direction are compared by an electronic processor against a table of minimum distances, and if the distance falls below the predetermined value for a given direction, an alarm is activated. In addition, all alarms, cancellations of alarms, activation and deactivation of the system are logged automatically with an identification of the operator.

摘要: A floor panel having a heating element disposed therein, the floor panel having at least two abutments for operationally coupling the panel to adjacent panels. 摘要: An automatic fire containment system is disclosed, together with certain components which may be used therewith. An embodiment of the system attempts to provide fire suppressant to regions surrounding a fire zone, thus containing the fire within limited area, but not flooding a larger area than necessary to contain the fire. Sprinklers which may be selectively automatically activated electrically, optionally in addition to common heat triggering, are also provided. Sensors may be embedded in the sprinklers. Further provided are sprinkler capable of reporting activation thereof via electrical state change. Further provided are devices to reduce installation costs and increase the resolution of firefighting and/or fire containment systems by providing wireless communications between network nodes such as flow switches, valve status switch, and individual sensors, sprinkler, and other ports, and a control panel/controller.

摘要: A controllable port redirector comprising a stack module insertable within a communication protocol stack, preferably between the data-link and the network layer. The redirector uses a rule base, at least partially downloaded from a control host, to decide on redirection of selected packets. The invention further provides a method for communication using at least partial remotely supplied rule base. Thus communications from the computer may be remotely and transparently controlled. Optionally the invention further provide a method for providing secured communication utilizing port hopping technique, controlled by a rule set which forms a hoping order, and utilizing different rules of packets from the same transmission stream, thus increasing the difficulty in monitoring the stream as a whole. Other services that may be established by the invention include replacing certain servers like DNS servers, providing a walled garden communication environment, and the like.
