    摘要: A multiband satellite communication antenna system includes a primary reflector and one or more movable subreflectors. A system with one subreflector operates at a first band when the subreflector is in a deployed position and reflects energy between a first feed and the primary antenna. When the subreflector is at a second, stowed, position, the primary reflector operates directly into a second feed. A communication antenna system with two subreflectors can operate at three bands under the conditions of having either both subreflectors stowed; the first subreflector deployed and the second subreflector stowed; or both subreflectors deployed.

    摘要: A dual gridded antenna reflector system and method for constructing the same is disclosed. The reflector system comprises a pair of reflector dishes each having a grid of parallel conductors. One of the reflector dishes is mounted over the other reflector dish by linear support ribs therebetween such that the conductors of the one reflector dish are perpendicular to the conductor of the other reflector dish. The linear support ribs are placed perpendicular to or parallel to the conductors of the overlapped reflector and are placed substantially outside of the high field region across the aperture of the overlapped reflector.

    摘要: A reduced size waveguide directional coupler assembly includes a first rectangular waveguide which is adapted to receive signal at an input port. A conductive septum parallel with a broad wall of the rectangular waveguide divides the signal into two portions flowing in first and second channels within the first waveguide. The septum may be centered between the broad walls, in which case the two signal portions and channel dimensions are the same, or the septum may be off-center, resulting in dissimilar amplitudes of the two signal portions. The coupler also includes a second waveguide. Branch waveguides or other coupling apertures open from the first channel into the second waveguide. That energy not flowing to the second waveguide from the first channel may be routed to an independent output port, or may be recombined with the energy flowing in the second channel and routed to a combined output port. The coupler may include a third waveguide coupled by branch waveguides or other coupling apertures to the second channel. That energy not coupled from the second channel to the third waveguide may be coupled to an independent output port, or may be recombined with the residual energy from the first channel at a combined output port. A load may be coupled to the septum to dissipate unbalanced power.
