    摘要: A system and method for imaging and aligning antennas that includes an overlay imaging aligner composed of two or more antennas in association with a polarization gate, a polarization beam splitter, a non-polarizing beam splitter, a beam dump, one or more imaging lens and a common detector array. The overlay imaging aligner aligns the antennas by overlaying simultaneous digital images associated with the antennas on the common detector array. The antennas can be, for example, mm Wave antennas, waveguides, etc. The detector array generates real-time digital images the antennas. Such an approach of simultaneous imaging leverages the spatial resolution of digital optical imaging to aligning antenna components.

    摘要: An antenna feed assembly is provided which includes at least two elongate feed chains lying adjacent one another. Each feed chain is adapted to transmit or receive electromagnetic radiation between itself and the antenna along a longitudinal feed axis thereof via a transmit/receive element. The feed chains are held in fixed lateral relationship to one another by first and second mountings spaced apart axially of the feed chains. The transmit/receive elements extend axially from the first mounting towards the antenna and the second mounting is positioned on a side of the first mounting remote from the antenna. The first mounting has a lower coefficient of thermal expansion in the lateral direction than the second mounting whereby translational movement of each transmit/receive element in the lateral direction owing to temperature change of the assembly will be reduced.

    摘要: A feed probe (1), a semicylindrical sub-reflector (2) forming a primary radiator together with the feed probe (1), and a main reflector (3) arranged such that mirror surfaces of said main reflector (3) and the sub-reflector face across the feed probe (1) are all disposed on a ground plate (a recfector face) (4). The main reflector (3) has a predetermined focal point or focal line on which the feed probe (1) is located, and is mounted on the ground plate (4) at a predetermined installation angle θ. A converter (500) for converting linearly and circularly polarized waves is provided on the mirror surface of the main reflector (3). The converter (500) is composed of a plurality of grooves (510) and ridges (512) formed between the grooves, so that a wave component orthogonal to the grooves is reflected at the bottom of the grooves while a wave component parallel to the grooves is reflected on the ridge surface, thereby causing a phase difference according to the height H of the grooves when a radio wave is reflected on the main reflector to thereby perform linear to circular polarization conversion.

    摘要: A Cassegrain antenna system includes a flat dielectric plate radome having a thickness of one-half wavelength at a frequency of operation. The plate has an electrically conductive grid disposed on an inside surface thereof to permit perpendicularly polarized energy rays to pass there-through. A parabolic twist reflector is spaced from the radome, and includes a dielectric substrate having a thickness equivalent to one-quarter wavelength at a frequency of operation and having formed on an interior surface thereof an array of conductive strips oriented by 45 degrees relative to the incident ray polarization. A conductive ground layer is formed on an exterior surface of the substrate, wherein radiation reflected by the ground layer and passing through the dielectric substrate is shifted by 180 degrees in phase and is rotated in polarization when combined with energy reflected from the conductive strip array by 90 degrees relative to radiation incident on the twist reflector. The reflected energy from the polarization twist reflector is again reflected, this time by the grid formed on the radome surface, to a focal region. An RF housing with a plurality of RF feed elements is located at the focal region and are respectively spaced by a single beamwidth.
