    摘要: A contactless ignition system for an internal combustion engine including an ignition signal generator having two pickup coils which are connected in series or parallel and oppositely in polarity to each other so as to be responsive to the rotation of a signal rotor in order to generate respective AC signals with one signal occurring at an intermediate position of the other, an input circuit disposed so as to be turned on or off when the AC signal from the ignition signal generator exceeds predetermined values in the positive and negative directions, respectively, an inverter circuit disposed to invert the output of the input circuit, first and second output circuits for generating a first output to turn on or off responsive to the output of the input circuit and a second output to turn off or on responsive to the output of the inverter circuit, and first and second ignition coils respectively responsive to the first and second outputs each so as to switch on and off the primary current therethrough.

    摘要: In a stick coil, there is disclosed an ignition coil for an internal combustion engine which can prevent a crack (a collar leak) from being generated due to a thermal stress. In this ignition coil, the structure is made such that a size (L) of a portion which is in parallel to an axial direction of a primary spool (121) in a projection portion (121b) is larger than a size (T) of a portion which is in parallel to an orthogonal direction to the axial direction of the primary spool (121). Accordingly, a frontal projected area of the projection portion (121b) as seen from a flowing direction of a resin becomes small, a resin flow is hard to get out of order at a time when the resin flows through a portion corresponding to the projection portion (121b) at the forming time, and a convoluted void and a weld are hard to be generated. Accordingly, since it is possible to prevent a mechanical strength in a root portion of the projection portion (121b) from being reduced, it is possible to previously prevent a crack from being generated in the root portion of the projection portion (the collar portion) (121b) due to a thermal stress so as to reduce an insulating property.

    摘要: In an ignition system including an ignition distributor integrated with an ignition coil, an electrical conductor linking leakage magnetic flux of the ignition coil is arranged on the outer periphery of the coil of an electromagnetic pickup to have a current conducting path around the axis of the coil. An eddy current is induced in the conductor by the leakage magnetic flux to generate magnetic flux in the direction opposite to the leakage magnetic flux of the ignition coil by the eddy current, thereby reducing a noise voltage generated in the electromagnetic pickup.

    摘要: A control signal the value of which gradually changes in response to the turning on of a switching element connected in series to the primary winding circuit of an ignition coil is generated. By use of this control signal, the voltage across the primary winding is caused to rise slowly when the switching element is on, thus preventing an unnecessary high voltage from being generated across the secondary winding of the ignition coil.
