    摘要: In a stick coil, there is disclosed an ignition coil for an internal combustion engine which can prevent a crack (a collar leak) from being generated due to a thermal stress. In this ignition coil, the structure is made such that a size (L) of a portion which is in parallel to an axial direction of a primary spool (121) in a projection portion (121b) is larger than a size (T) of a portion which is in parallel to an orthogonal direction to the axial direction of the primary spool (121). Accordingly, a frontal projected area of the projection portion (121b) as seen from a flowing direction of a resin becomes small, a resin flow is hard to get out of order at a time when the resin flows through a portion corresponding to the projection portion (121b) at the forming time, and a convoluted void and a weld are hard to be generated. Accordingly, since it is possible to prevent a mechanical strength in a root portion of the projection portion (121b) from being reduced, it is possible to previously prevent a crack from being generated in the root portion of the projection portion (the collar portion) (121b) due to a thermal stress so as to reduce an insulating property.

    摘要: An ignition coil is disclosed. The ignition coil includes an insulative material, a body, and a head coupled to the body. A portion of the insulative material is included in the body, and a portion of the insulative material is included in the head. The head includes a casing, a flange for coupling to an engine case, and a connector adapted to be connected to an external device. The head also includes a conducting terminal with a connector pin, an exposed contact, and a connecting part. The connector pin is coupled to the connector, the exposed contact is coupled to the casing or the flange, and the connecting part couples the exposed contact and the connector pin. A portion of the connecting part is embedded in the insulative material, and wherein a remaining portion is embedded in the casing. A method of manufacturing the ignition coil is also disclosed.

    摘要: An ignition coil that can be easily assembled, that assures co-axial alignment of a primary coil, a secondary coil and a center core part, and that generates desired high voltage. A core body is formed to have an outer diameter larger than that of a permanent magnet so that the permanent magnet will not protrude out of the outer peripheral face of the core body. Accordingly, when the center core part is inserted into a secondary spool, the center core part is not caught by the secondary spool and may be readily inserted and assembled therewith. Also, because no bulge is created at the center core part, it is possible to prevent the center core part from tilting within the secondary spool and to readily assure the co-axial alignment of the primary spool, the secondary spool and the center core part. Thus, voltage generated by the secondary coil is prevented from dropping, and high voltage may be applied to the ignition plug.

    摘要: In a stick-type ignition coil device for engines, a primary spool is disposed outside a secondary coil. The primary spool is made of PBT (polybuthylene telephthalate) having a low melting viscosity and a high flowability as a resin base material. The resin base material is admixed with an olefin rubber in 5 wt. %, glass fibers in 12.5 wt. % and silica in 12.5 wt. %. A primary coil 24 comprises a wire body coated with PET (polyethylene telephthalate), silicone or wax as a separating member, and is wound around the primary spool. The growth of trees in the primary spool 23 restricted even when electrical discharges occur between a secondary coil and the primary coil and the primary spool is eroded by the electrical discharges, because silica is added in the primary spool.

    摘要: An ignition coil has a coil case made of an insulating resin, including a head portion, a cylinder portion accommodating a primary coil, and a secondary coil and a high-voltage tower portion for fitting with a spark plug. At least one of those three portions is separately molded and then the portions are assembled to form the coil case. The longitudinal length of each of the three portions is less than a forming flow length of the insulating resin, thereby preventing inferior molding. Further, the structure of each molding die is simpler than that of the coil case for an integral molding. Therefore, the coil case of the ignition coil can be molded readily without molding defects, even when the coil case is elongated, formed thinner, and/or formed with an undercut portion.

    摘要: In an ignition coil for an internal combustion engine, a column section and a notched section are provided in a side wall section of a case section of the ignition coil. A ventilation opening is formed in an up/down direction in the column section. The ventilation opening communicates with a ventilation passage formed between a sealing rubber and the case section and is open in an upper end section. A cover surrounding the column section and covering the upper end section is provided in the side wall section. A sealing section sealing the notched section is provided in the cover. The ignition coil has a filler resin that fills a space within the case section being in continuous contact with the sealing section and the side wall section and fixing the cover to the side wall section.
