Abstract: A resolver for detecting the displacement amount of a passive body is provided with an excitation winding or a detection winding. The detection is based on a detection signal outputted from the detection winding as a result of an excitation signal inputted to the excitation winding. The excitation winding and/or the detection winding are composed of a combination of one or more sheet coils having one or more bore portions. The sheet coils are arranged at prescribed intervals in the lengthwise direction of a magnetic core to which the sheet coils are attached. A plurality of coil-storing grooves formed in a direction perpendicular to the lengthwise direction are provided in the core surface of the magnetic core. Abstract: A resolver comprises excitation windings for receiving excitation signals and a detection winding for outputting a detection signal. Displacement of a passive member provided with the excitation windings or the detection winding is detected on the basis of the detection signal which varies with the displacement of the passive member. A modulated signal obtained through modulation of a high-frequency signal by an excitation signal is input to each of the excitation windings, and a detection signal is obtained through demodulation of a modulated signal output from the detection winding. Since the modulated signal obtained through modulation (amplitude modulation) of the high-frequency signal by means of the excitation signal is applied to the excitation windings, the number of turns in the excitation and the detection windings can be reduced.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a coil is composed of the step of rolling a conductor of trapezoidal cross section or a conductor of rectangular cross section in the longitudinal direction thereof. An amount of deformation is gradually increased from a side of the conductor corresponding to the inner side of the coil toward a side of the conductor corresponding to the outer side of the coil. As a result, the conductor of trapezoidal cross section is formed into a coiled conductor of rectangular cross section, or the conductor of rectangular cross section is formed into a coiled conductor of trapezoidal cross section. In this way, rolling and coiling of the conductor are performed simultaneously to produce a coil.
