Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), Next Generation Node-B (gNB) and methods of communication are generally described herein. The UE receive training signals from a plurality of transmit-receive points (TRPs) associated with the gNB. Each training signal may comprise a reference signal resource identifier (ID) to indicate a corresponding TRP and a corresponding transmit direction of a plurality of transmit directions. The UE may, for each transmit direction of the plurality of transmit directions, determine an average signal quality measurement based on individual signal quality measurements in multiple receive directions. The UE may select, for reporting to the gNB, a subset of the average signal quality measurements to ensure that the average signal quality measurements excluded from the subset are less than or equal to a minimum value of the average signal quality measurements in the subset.
Abstract:
Technology for a user equipment (UE) operable to decode measurement gap patterns received from a Next Generation NodeB (gNB) is disclosed. The UE can decode a per-frequency range (per-FR) measurement gap pattern received from the gNB in a New Radio (NR) system. The per-FR measurement gap pattern can indicate a measurement gap partem for monitoring selected frequency layers within a frequency range at the UE. The UE can process one or more measurements for the selected frequency layers within the frequency range. The one or more measurements for the selected frequency layers can be measured in accordance with the per-FR measurement gap pattern. The UE can encode the one or more measurements for the selected frequency layers for reporting to the gNB.

Embodiments of the present invention provide a method for indicating the service priority update, a service priority update method, and an apparatus. The method for indicating the service priority update includes: A priority management functional entity receives a service priority update request message sent by a user, where the update request message includes a service type identifier and a priority update indication identifier corresponding to the service type identifier; and the priority management functional entity sends a service priority update instruction message to a network side according to the update request message, where the update instruction message is used to instruct the network side to process a service corresponding to the service type identifier according to a priority level corresponding to the priority update indication identifier. In the embodiments of the present invention, priority control is exercised on all types of services of the user in an emergency.
