Abstract:
Embodiments of apparatus and methods for signaling for resource allocation and scheduling in 5G-NR integrated access and backhaul are generally described herein. In some embodiments, User Equipment configured for reporting a channel quality indicator (CQI) index in a channel state information (CSI) reference resource assumes a physical resource block (PRB) bundling size of two PRBs to derive the CQI index.
Abstract:
To configure an IAB node for DU function and MT function resource transitions within an IAB network, the processing circuitry is to detect using allocated resources, a plurality of resource transitions in adjacent slots between transmission or reception of data on a parent backhaul link. The processing circuitry determines based on sub-carrier spacing (SCS) associated with the allocated resources, a guard symbol table with a number of desired guard symbols for each of the plurality of resource transitions. The number of desired guard symbols are for insertion during the transmission or reception of the data on the parent backhaul link to avoid overlapping of the allocated resources for the parent backhaul link and allocated resources for the DU function during the plurality of resource transitions.
Abstract:
Embodiments of a Next Generation Node-B (gNB) and methods of communication are disclosed herein. The gNB may be configured with a gNB central unit (gNB-CU) and a gNB distributed unit (gNB-DU). The gNB-CU may determine a route for delivery of a data packet to a User Equipment (UE) on an integrated access backhaul (IAB) of relays. The gNB may generate a physical layer (PHY) data packet in accordance with a split between functionality of a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer at the gNB-CU and functionality of a radio link control (RLC) layer at the gNB-DU. The PHY data packet may include the data packet, a PDCP header, an adaptation layer header, an RLC header, a medium access control (MAC) header, and a PHY header. The adaptation layer header may indicate one or more relays included in the route.
Abstract:
A system and method for multicast servicing in a unicast subframe is disclosed. The method using a transmission station comprises the operation of setting up a multicast service on each of a plurality of mobile devices in a multicast group using a multicast cell radio network temporary identifier (MC-RNTI) with a common cell identifier (CID). The operation of allocating physical downlink shared data channel (PDSCH) resources for the multicast group using a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) masked by the MC-RNTI follows.
Abstract:
Technology for performing data retransmissions is disclosed. An anchor evolved node B (eNB) can receive uplink control information from a user equipment (UE). The uplink control information can be transmitted in response to the UE receiving user data from a booster eNB. User data that is incorrectly received at the UE can be identified based on the uplink control information. The incorrectly received user data can be retransmitted directly from the anchor eNB to the UE independent of the booster eNB.
Abstract:
A serving gateway (S-GW) in a radio access network (RAN) server system for peer-to-peer (P2P) communication can include a P2P content manager. The P2P content manager can be configured for receiving P2P data content from other nodes in a P2P network, forwarding the P2P data content to other nodes in the P2P network, and transmitting the P2P data content to a mobile device associated with the S-GW in a downlink (DL) transmission. The serving gateway can be a node in the P2P network and coupled to a transmission station in the RAN. The P2P data content includes at least one P2P data packet.
Abstract:
A wireless communications network includes a first base station system that performs wireless communications according to a first protocol (e.g., 1xEV-DO protocol) and a second base station system that performs wireless communications according to a second, different protocol (e.g., IS-2000). A link is provided between the first and second base station systems to enable a network-initiated handoff procedure. If a source base station system detects that a handoff of a mobile station to a target base station system is required, the source base station system exchanges messaging over the link with the target base station system to perform the handoff. In one example, the handoff is a hard handoff.
Abstract:
To communicate information relating to an application over a wireless link, application control information and application data information are communicated over the wireless link between a mobile station and a base station system. The application data information is communicated over a traffic flow over the wireless link, and the application control information is communicated in a wireless control message carried in wireless signaling associated with the traffic flow.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus, and computer instructions for managing push-to-talk communications. Different types of PTT calls with a variety of protocol configurations are supported with the use of PTT Type and Protocol Type fields in a call set up control message. When a push-to-media indicator in a call set up request message is detected in a radio access network in a communications system, the packet is directed to a push-to-media gateway in a packet data network in the communications system. The push-to-media packet is processed using the push-to-media gateway to manage the push-to-media call. This directing of the packet reduces the latency in managing a push-to-media call.
Abstract:
To communicate in a press-to-talk (PTT) session, a message for requesting a right to talk in the PTT session is sent over a wireless link between a mobile station and a base station system. The message for requesting the right to talk in the PTT session is sent in wireless signaling over the wireless link. An acknowledgment of the wireless signaling carrying the message is received, with the acknowledgment sent by the base station system in response to the control signaling. An indication is provided at the mobile station of the right to talk in response to the acknowledgment.
