    摘要: A rotor assembly with a cooling mechanism having first and second channels is provided. The rotor assembly includes a shaft having a hollow portion and a rotor core having at least one rotor stack positioned at least partially around the shaft. The rotor core has a first end and a second end. The rotor stack forms an interior cavity which is only partially filled with a permanent magnet so as to define a gap in the rotor stack. The first channel is configured to direct fluid flow in a generally radial direction from the hollow portion of the shaft. The second channel is at least partially defined by the gap in the interior cavity of the rotor stack and is configured to direct the fluid flow from the first channel to at least one of the first and second ends of the rotor core.

    摘要: A rotor assembly with a cooling mechanism having first and second channels is provided. The rotor assembly includes a shaft having a hollow portion and a rotor core having at least one rotor stack positioned at least partially around the shaft.     摘要: An electric machine is provided with a rotor core rotatable about a central axis. A first end ring is operatively connected to one end of the rotor core. A first housing component at least partially encloses the rotor core. At least one first rotor fin extends from the first end ring in a first direction which may be substantially parallel to the central axis. At least one first housing fin extends from the first housing component in a second direction that is substantially opposite to the first direction. The first rotor and housing fins extend circumferentially around the central axis. The first rotor fin and the first housing fin are configured to interleave, thereby enhancing heat transfer between the first rotor and housing fin, and cooling the rotor core.

    摘要: A hybrid powertrain for a vehicle is provided that includes an engine having a crankshaft and a motor/generator operatively connected to the crankshaft. An elastic member is operatively connected to the crankshaft and configured to be wound by one of the engine or the motor/generator. A one-way torque-transmitting mechanism is operatively connected to a first end portion of the elastic member and configured to overrun prior to winding of the elastic member. The elastic member is configured to be releasable to allow unwinding of the elastic member to rotate the crankshaft to restart the engine. A method of starting an engine on a hybrid vehicle is also provided.
