Abstract:
Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media are provided for self-targeted content delivery. Content objects can be delivered to a user and indications from the user to mark any content object can be received thereby generating standard data structures to be placed into a central data store. At a later time, on various other systems, a content guide may be provided to the user showing the content related to the standard data structures placed in the central store. The user may mark digital content as it is encountered via television, internet, mobile devices, automobile terminals, public terminals, kiosks, or otherwise. Standardized data structures can allow the marking to operate across platforms, operating systems, hardware, and delivery modes. Content guides created from data structures associated with marked content can allow the marked content to be recalled and accessed from any of various other systems at a later time.

Abstract:
A system and method for interfacing plain old telephone system (PATS) devices with a cellular network is presented. In a broad sense, the system includes an interface that bridges the POTS devices with the cellular network. The interface is configured to convert POTS compatible signals into cellular network compatible signals, and vice versa.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for a dynamic glyph based search includes an image server. The image server analyzes images to determine the content of an image. The image and data related to the determined content of the image are stored in an image database. A user can access the image server and search images using search glyphs. In response to selection of a generic-search glyph, the image server finds related images in the image database and the images are displayed to the user. In addition, refine-search glyphs are displayed to a user based on the selected generic-search glyph. One or more refine-search glyphs can be selected by a user to further narrow a search to specific people, locations, objects, and other image content.

Abstract:
Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for selecting a speech recognition model in a standardized speech recognition infrastructure. The system receives speech from a user, and if a user-specific supervised speech model associated with the user is available, retrieves the supervised speech model. If the user-specific supervised speech model is unavailable and if an unsupervised speech model is available, the system retrieves the unsupervised speech model. If the user-specific supervised speech model and the unsupervised speech model are unavailable, the system retrieves a generic speech model associated with the user. Next the system recognizes the received speech from the user with the retrieved model. In one embodiment, the system trains a speech recognition model in a standardized speech recognition infrastructure. In another embodiment, the system handshakes with a remote application in a standardized speech recognition infrastructure.
Abstract:
Detecting and devaluing non-pertinent input in an online social network includes setting triggers for user conduct that includes evaluating a unique content submission submitted to the online social network and detecting, at a tangible host server, when a trigger is activated based on user conduct by a first user. The first user is penalized based on the user conduct. An initial weighting value is assigned to the unique content submission submitted to the online social network based on the first user evaluating the unique content submission.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and products are disclosed for presenting structured digital content items. A file is read that defines a hierarchical structure. A display region is divided into regions and each region is mapped to a category within the hierarchical structure. An x-coordinate and a y-coordinate, corresponding to a location on the display, are received. The category that maps to the x-coordinate and the y-coordinate is displayed.
Abstract:
A protector for a portable wireless communication device that has a housing and a keypad. One embodiment of the protector may comprise a cover member that is pivotally attached to the housing and selectively pivotable between a first position wherein the cover covers the keypad and other positions wherein the keypad is exposed. The cover may be provided with one or more openings or notches to permit access to certain components on the keypad such as a thumbwheel, etc. without removing the cover member. The cover member may be provided with a latch to retain the cover member in position. If desired, an antenna may be coupled to the cover. The antenna may be physically coupled to the device's receiving and transmitting circuitry or it may be capacitively coupled thereto.
