    摘要: Provided herein is a computer-implemented method for generating an optimized cellular-network cell-site plan for an area. A plurality of cellular-traffic demand nodes distributed across the area is provided. Each cellular-traffic demand node of the plurality of cellular-traffic demand nodes has an associated weighting characteristics set. The plurality of nodes are consolidated into a plurality of centroids. Each centroid represents a number of nodes that come within a traffic threshold. A potential cell site is positioned on each of the centroids. Each potential cell site has an associated base-transmitter-station parameter characteristics set. The demand node coverage of each potential cell site is determined with respect to a signal strength of the potential cell site. From the plurality of potential cell sites a minimized cell-site subset is selected while maintaining sufficient cellular service coverage of the plurality of demand nodes.

    摘要: A wireless network, having a plurality of mobile units operating in a cell of the wireless network, isolates a faulty mobile unit that jams the control channel thereby preventing communication by the other mobile units in the cell. A system and method for isolating the faulty mobile unit monitors the cell traffic pattern among the mobile units in the cell to detect an abnormality, determines whether the abnormality is due to the faulty mobile unit or a problem with the wireless network, and if the abnormality is due to the faulty mobile unit, communicates with the mobile units operating within the cell to isolate the faulty mobile unit.

    摘要: An asynchronous transfer mode infrastructure is integrated with the communications network. The asynchronous transfer mode infrastructure is composed of an asynchronous transfer mode fabric and asynchronous transfer mode gateway. Wireless and wireline data are linked to the communications network via the asynchronous transfer mode infrastructure, such that all wireless and wireline data transactions within the communications network are processed independently of any switching devices present within the communications network. Wireless and wireline data is transmitted to and from the communications network via a network access function that allows wireless and wireline data to flow to and from the communications network. The wireless and wireline data is converted within the network access function in response to transmittal of the wireless and wireline data to the network access function. The wireless and wireline data is then transferred to the asynchronous transfer mode infrastructure from the network access function.

The cell sites communicate with cellular users within their respective cell site areas and comprise a communication segment for exchanging communication signals with the cellular users.
