Abstract:
An example of the present invention is a method of transmitting encrypted user data to a mobile terminal in a wireless telecommunications network. The method comprises sending to the mobile terminal a data packet. The data packet comprises both an identifier of encryption information to used in recovering encrypted user data, and user data encrypted using said encryption information.
Abstract:
The use of search context to determine a manner in which related items are to be display to a user upon selecting a search result of a number of search results generated by a search engine. Upon the user selecting one of the search result items, details regarding the selected search result item are then displayed. The details include a listing of related items that includes at least a set of strongly related items. The context of the plurality of search result items is used to determine a manner of display of the related items. Thus, the display manner for the related items may be different according to the context.

Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses are provided for calibrating eddy current sensors. A calibration curve is formed relating thickness of a conductive layer in a magnetic field to a value measured by the eddy current sensors or a value derived from such measurement, such as argument of impedance. The calibration curve may be an analytic function having infinite number terms, such as trigonometric, hyperbolic, and logarithmic, or a continuous plurality of functions, such as lines. Such curves can reduce the number of wafers used in the calibration of the sensors while providing higher accuracy over a larger thickness range. High accuracy allows the omission of optical sensors, and use of eddy current sensors for endpoint detection, transition call detection, and closed loop control in which a process parameter is changed based on the measured magnetic flux density change in one or more processing zones.
Abstract:
In handover in a wireless telecommunications network, dummy packets, or data packets with a last used sequence number indicator are transmitted from a source node eNB 2 to a target node 3. When the target node eNB 3 detects the information, it knows the sequence of data packets being received from the source node eNB 2 and which is the last one and its sequence number. Thus, data packets may be suitable ordered for delivery to a mobile terminal UE 1.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method of allocating resources for transmission a broadcast data in a distributed network. One embodiment of the method may include selecting a first base station router from a plurality of base station routers. The first base station router is selected to allocate resources of the plurality of base station routers for providing the broadcast data. The method may also include providing the broadcast data to the plurality of base station routers. The broadcast data is configured for broadcast by each of the plurality of base station routers according to a resource allocation determined by the first base station router.
Abstract:
We describe assay modules (e.g., assay plates, cartridges, multi-well assay plates, reaction vessels, etc.), processes for their preparation, and method of their use for conducting assays. Reagents may be present in free form or supported on solid phases including the surfaces of compartments (e.g., chambers, channels, flow cells, wells, etc.) in the assay modules or the surface of colloids, beads, or other particulate supports. In particular, dry reagents can be incorporated into the compartments of these assay modules and reconstituted prior to their use in accordance with the assay methods. A desiccant material may be used to maintain and stabilize these reagents in a dry state.
Abstract:
An improved technique reduces unnecessary routing area updates, while ensuring that the location of a mobile terminal is known when the mobile terminal starts data communication after being in a standby state. Routing area updates are controlled in a packet radio access network architecture having a common routing area controlled by a core network and supported by a first wireless access system and a second wireless access system. The first radio access system provides a mode of operation in which a radio link is maintained between a mobile terminal and the first radio access system after completion of a data transmission. A routing area update takes place if the mobile is located in the second radio access system routing area when the next data transmission is initiated. Additionally, if packet transmission is initiated by the core network, the first radio access system receives a paging request and responsive to receipt of the paging request, the first radio access system pages the core network common routing area.
Abstract:
Assay cartridges are described that have a detection chamber, preferably having integrated electrodes, and other fluidic components which may include sample chambers, waste chambers, conduits, vents, bubble traps, reagent chambers, dry reagent pill zones and the like. In certain embodiments, these cartridges are adapted to receive and analyze a sample collected on an applicator stick. Also described are kits including such cartridges and a cartridge reader configured to analyze an assay conducted using an assay cartridge.
