摘要: A plasma display apparatus comprises a scan electrode and a sustain electrode; a data electrode for intersecting the scan electrode and the sustain electrode; and a pulse controller for controlling to apply a pulse having an opposite phase to the scan electrode and the sustain electrode during a reset period and apply a negative sustain pulse to the scan electrode and the sustain electrode during a sustain period, wherein a distance between the scan electrode and the sustain electrode is longer than that between the sustain electrode and the data electrode. Therefore, a surface discharge mode can be used even when applying negative pulses to the sustain electrode in a reset period, and a size and cost of a plasma display apparatus can be reduced by applying a negative pulse of the same magnitude as a sustain voltage without a separate negative voltage source.

摘要: A plasma display panel is disclosed. More particularly, the present invention relates to a plasma display panel, which can improve discharge stability as well as brightness and efficiency. The plasma display panel according to the present invention includes transparent electrodes (ITO electrodes) spaced in parallel to each other at a predetermined distance; and metal electrodes each formed on the transparent electrodes (ITO electrodes) in parallel to the transparent electrodes (ITO electrodes) so that the respective transparent electrodes (ITO electrodes) are inclined toward the side where the transparent electrodes face.

摘要: A plasma display panel and a method for manufacturing the same are disclosed. The plasma display panel includes a first substrate comprising first electrodes, a second substrate arranged to face the first substrate, the second substrate comprising second electrodes, barrier ribs formed between the first and second substrates, to define discharge cells, and a phosphor layer formed in each of the discharge cells. The phosphor layer includes a phosphor and a dielectric having a secondary electron emission coefficient higher than the phosphor.

摘要: A method of driving a plasma display panel is disclosed. The method including a scan electrode, a sustain electrode, and a barrier rib includes applying a scan pulse of a positive polarity to the scan electrode for an address period, and applying a data pulse of a negative polarity corresponding to the scan pulse of the positive polarity to the address electrode for the address period. A gap between the scan electrode and the sustain electrode positioned within a discharge cell partitioned by the barrier rib is more than a height of the barrier rib.

摘要: A plasma display apparatus comprises a scan electrode and a sustain electrode; a data electrode for intersecting the scan electrode and the sustain electrode; and a pulse controller for controlling to apply a pulse having an opposite phase to the scan electrode and the sustain electrode during a reset period and apply a negative sustain pulse to the scan electrode and the sustain electrode during a sustain period, wherein a distance between the scan electrode and the sustain electrode is longer than that between the sustain electrode and the data electrode. Therefore, a surface discharge mode can be used even when applying negative pulses to the sustain electrode in a reset period, and a size and cost of a plasma display apparatus can be reduced by applying a negative pulse of the same magnitude as a sustain voltage without a separate negative voltage source.

摘要: A plasma display panel comprises a front panel having a front glass, and a rear panel opposing the front panel. The rear panel includes a rear glass positioned to face the front glass, an address electrode formed on the rear glass, a lower dielectric layer covering the address electrode, a barrier rib, positioned on the lower dielectric layer, partitioning a discharge cell. At least one of a scan electrode and a sustain electrode is formed inside the barrier rib. A gap between the scan electrode and the sustain electrode is greater than a height of the barrier rib. The address electrode intersects with the scan electrode and the sustain electrode, and has a protrusion electrode in proximity to the scan electrode.

摘要: A plasma display panel and a method of manufacturing the plasma display panel are disclosed. The plasma display panel includes a scan electrode, a sustain electrode, and a barrier rib formed on a glass, and an upper dielectric layer having a differential thickness formed on the glass. The upper dielectric layer covers the scan electrode and the sustain electrode. As the upper dielectric layer is far away from a discharge region portion between the scan electrode and sustain electrode, the width of the upper dielectric layer gradually increases. A distance between the scan electrode and the sustain electrode positioned within a discharge cell partitioned by the barrier rib is more than a height of the barrier rib.
