The data slot reservation system includes a first device for broadcasting an extended distributed reservation protocol (DRP) availability information element storing data slot reservation information of at least one neighboring device located in a plutality-hop distance; and a second device for checking reservation states of neighboring devices of the first device by using the extended DRP availability information element, and carrying out a data slot reservation negotiation according to a result of the check. Therefore, the data slot reservation system can avoid reservation conflicts all together, or effectively resolve reservation conflicts when they occur.

Disclosed are a method for media access controlling and channel time reservation system and method in distributed wireless personal area networks. A method of media access controlling for a distributed wireless network including at least one device, includes a device of the distributed wireless network, generating a data slot reservation indicator for devices of the same beacon group, and the device, broadcasting the generated data slot reservation indicator. Thus, a slot reservation for communication between devices can be completed in a shorter period of time. Also, capacity of the network can be improved by spatial reuse of channel time.

A power saving system in distributed wireless personal area network and a method thereof are disclosed. A PS (Power Save) anchor that provides information about hibernating devices to a beacon group through power save information elements in media access control for a wireless personal area network based on a wireless mobile ad-hoc network. Accordingly, all devices in the given wireless personal area network can schedule their active modes and hibernating modes according to hibernating intervals of destination devices with which the devices want to communicate. This can effectively reduce the necessity of the devices' waiting for the destination devices to awake from the hibernating mode as the devices maintain their idle state, and thus the power consumption of all the devices in the network can effectively be reduced.
