Abstract:
A cooking vessel suitable for being heated by an induction heat source includes a base of austenitic stainless steel. A heat distributing layer is bonded to the exterior of the base, the heat distributing layer being formed of a metal having a high thermal conductivity. A magnetizable layer is connected to the exterior of the heat distributing layer. At least two intermediate layers are provided between and connect the magnetizable layer and the heat distributing layer. Each of the intermediate layers is formed of a material having a coefficient of thermal expansion value between the values of the coefficients of thermal expansion of the materials of the heat distributing layer and the magnetizable layer.
Abstract:
A three-layer metal laminate consists of only two different metals with different coefficients of thermal expansion. The two outer layers consist of the same metal, yet of different thicknesses so that, on heating the metal laminate there arises a cotrolled bimetal effect which is utilized in thin-based vessels for hot food, to maintain the base flat on being heated.
Abstract:
There is provided a system comprising an assembly for storage or transport of compressed gas on a floating structure (1), wherein the assem+y (3) comprises a plurality of separate, parallel, laying pipes (4) which are closed at both ends and are supported discretely or continuously by a supporting structure (5). The pipes (4) are releaseably attached to the supporting structure (5) only at one end thereof, where the pipes are coupled to a manifold system (˜) for filling or emptying of the pipes, and the supporting structure (5) is arranged to allow unobstructed longitudinal guiding of the pipes (4) in the storage assembly (3), so that the pipes individually or in groups can be introduced to or removed from their operating position in the storage assem+y via openings at the ends of the assem+y located oppositely to said one end. There is also provided a method for installation of pipes on a floating structure having such a storage assem+y, wherein the individual pipes (4) are provided on a production plant and are guided therefrom into the storage assembly, the floating structure being ballasted to a desired draft so that the relevant pipes can be guided directly into the correct position in the storage assembly.
Abstract:
An electric hotplate with a thermostat includes a heating plate which is joined to the surrounding cold zones by means of a bridge of relatively thin sheet metal. The actuating device for a thermostatic switch is operated by the vertical movement of the heating plate. This movement arises as a consequence of the horizontal expansions and contractions of the heating plate due to changes in temperature, such movements being converted, by means of the bridge, which acts as a hinge, to vertical movements.
