摘要： A packaging system having a bar code reader integrated therein for conveying information concerning the size and filling requirements of a product to a packaging machine which will produce the product. The packaging machine is capable of consecutively filling cartons with different products in a single production cycle. The bar code reader provides this information from the bar code placed on every blank that is to be produced into a formed, filled and sealed carton. The filling system of the packaging machine may have a primary and secondary product for mixing in a package to produce a final product. Alternatively, the filling system may have several filling pipes, each filling pipe dispensing a different product. The bar code reader instructs the conveyor under which fill pipe a particular carton should be filled to match the product with the carton.

摘要： A dual-stream filling system is used in a packaging machine to introduce at least two flowable materials into a plastic bottle. The dual-stream filling system defines a material flow path therethrough. The system includes a primary filling tube having an inlet end and a discharge end and defining a primary filling tube internal flow region. A secondary filling tube has an inlet end and an outlet end and defines a secondary filling tube internal flow region. The secondary filling tube is positioned at least in part within the primary filling tube internal flow region, penetrating the primary filling tube through the first opening. The dual-stream fill system includes a valve plug that includes a portion that is movable relative to the secondary filling tube between an opened state wherein flow communication is established between the internal flow regions of the primary and secondary filling tubes and a closed state wherein flow communication is terminated between the internal flow regions of the primary and secondary filling tubes. An actuator is provided for moving the valve plug portion between the opened and closed positions. The actuator is disposed fully external of the secondary filling tube flow region.

Since the demands on hygiene in this context are very high, especially if the packing machine operates with foodstuff sterilized beforehand, it is a disadvantage that manoeuvering devices for the means acting upon the flow have to pass from the outside into the sterile flow path where the means is located. This is avoided in accordance with the invention in that the means (3) acting upon the flow is combined with an actuator (8) which can be acted upon electromagnetically by a stator (7) isolated from the flow path.

摘要： A fill system for use in a packaging machine is disclosed for filling a container with a primary and a secondary product. The fill system includes a primary pump system for pumping a predetermined amount of the primary product received at an inlet thereof. A primary fill pipe having an outlet overlying a container processing path along which the containers are filled and sealed by the packaging machine is connected to receive the predetermined amount of primary product from the outlet of the primary pump system. The fill system further includes a secondary pump system for pumping a predetermined amount of the secondary product received at an inlet thereof to an outlet thereof. A secondary fill pipe is connected to receive the predetermined amount of secondary product from the outlet of the secondary pump means. A valve mechanism is disposed, for example, concentrically within the secondary fill pipe and includes a sealing member positioned at the outlet of the secondary fill pipe. The valve mechanism is driven by a linear multi-stage actuator to provide multiple selected valve opening widths.

摘要： A fill system for use in a packaging machine is disclosed for filling a container with a primary and a secondary product. The fill system includes a primary pump system for pumping a predetermined amount of the primary product received at an inlet thereof to an outlet thereof. A primary fill pipe having an outlet overlying a container processing path along which the containers are filled and sealed by the packaging machine is connected to receive the predetermined amount of primary product from the outlet of the primary pump system. The container processing path lies generally perpendicular to the primary fill pipe. A nozzle is connected at the outlet of the fill pipe. The fill system further includes a secondary pump system for pumping a predetermined amount of the secondary product received at an inlet thereof to an outlet thereof. A secondary fill pipe is connected to receive the predetermined amount of secondary product from the outlet of the secondary pump means. The secondary fill pipe is concentrically disposed in the primary fill pipe and has an outlet that likewise overlies the container processing path. A valve mechanism is disposed, for example, concentrically within the secondary fill pipe and includes a sealing member positioned at the outlet of the secondary fill pipe. The sealing member is operable to control the flow of the secondary product from the secondary fill pipe. Operation of the fill system may be user controlled by a user interface and control system.

摘要： A product tank for a dual stream filling system is disclosed wherein the product tank has two chambers for containing different products that will be mixed within a carton during the filling process. The primary product in the primary chamber of the product tank may cool the secondary product in the secondary chamber. If the primary product is skim milk and the secondary product is cream, then products such as skim milk, one percent milk, two percent milk, four percent milk and cream may produced from the primary and secondary products. A filling complex is also disclosed wherein two product tanks are integrated with a filling system to fill cartons on two lines.

摘要： A fill system for use in a packaging machine for filling a container with a primary product and a secondary product is provided. The fill system includes a primary intermediate storage tank. The storage tank has an inlet connected to a source of the primary product and an outlet. The fill system also has a primary fill pipe having an inlet and an outlet, the outlet overlying a container processing path along which containers are filled and sealed by the packaging machine. A primary pump is also provided for pumping a predetermined amount of the primary product from the outlet of the primary intermediate storage tank to the inlet of the primary fill pipe. Similarly, a secondary intermediate storage tank having an inlet connected to a source of the secondary product is provided. The secondary fill pipe is concentrically disposed in the primary fill pipe and has an outlet overlying the container processing path. In addition, a secondary pump is provided for pumping a predetermined amount of the secondary product from an outlet of the secondary intermediate storage tank to the secondary fill pipe.
