A liquid crystal display is disclosed. The liquid crystal display includes a liquid crystal display panel including a pixel array and touch sensors, a transparent conductive layer on one substrate of the liquid crystal display panel transmitting display light, a polarizing plate on the transparent conductive layer, a driving voltage supply circuit, and a signal transmitting unit electrically connecting the transparent conductive layer to the driving voltage supply circuit. A portion of the transparent conductive layer is connected to a ground level voltage source. The driving voltage supply circuit generates a driving voltage required to perform light sensing operations of the touch sensors during a touch period based on changes in an amount of surface charge of the transparent conductive layer depending on whether or not the polarizing plate is touched.

A system is disclosed for preventing an unauthorized person from moving or stealing electronic devices having one or more USB ports, such as portable computers. The anti-theft system includes a USB device capable of connecting to a USB port of a computer and an alarm sub-system to cause an audible alarm to be generated based on a signal generated within the USB device.

Embodiments include apparatuses, methods, and systems including a dynamic polarization controller (DPC) to receive a first light beam and a second light beam, to adjust a rotation of a state of polarization (SOP) of the first light beam and the second light beam to generate a third light beam and a fourth light beam, under the control of a first control signal, a second control signal, and a third control signal. The first control signal may be related to a phase difference between the third light beam and the fourth light beam, the second control signal may be related to an intensity difference between the third light beam and the fourth light beam, and the third control signal may be related to a rotation of a SOP of the third light beam and the fourth light beam. Disclosed is a coupling structure of a bearing for an EPS motor to eliminate a gap caused by a tolerance between the bearing and a pocket of a housing of the EPS motor, thereby improving assembling precision and reducing noise, the coupling structure supporting rotation of a rotating shaft through the bearing coupled to a lower portion of the housing and including a bearing pocket bent upwards from a lower surface of the housing and having a cylindrical space to support an outer circumference of the bearing at an inner wall thereof, whereby a gap between the inner wall of the bearing pocket and the outer circumference of the bearing is eliminated by deforming the inner wall towards an inner circumference thereof by caulking, coupling force between the bearing and the housing can be increased, and thereby reliability in assembly and operation of the motor is improved.

A camera shutter device and an optical apparatus having the same are disclosed, wherein the device includes a core including a first rod and a second rod, each arranged in parallel with the other, and one of which is wrapped by a coil, a first distal end formed at the first rod to generate an electromagnetic force line, and a second distal end formed at the second rod to generate an electromagnetic force line, a magnet arranged in opposition to the first and second distal ends to linearly and reciprocally move between the first and second distal ends, a slider for opening and closing a shutter blade in a case the magnet linearly and reciprocally moves between the first and second distal ends, wherein each area of the first and second distal ends is larger than each cross-sectional area of the first and second rods, such that miniaturization and thinning of the shutter device can be realized, and generation of trembling phenomenon can be prevented during an opening/shutting operation of the shutter blade.

A system is disclosed for preventing an unauthorized person from taking or using a portable computer. The anti-theft/security system includes a USB device having a motion sensor attached to a casing of a portable computer. The USB device is connected to a port of the portable computer using a connector. The anti-theft/security system also includes an alarm sub-system to cause an audible sound to be generated, which is triggered based on a signal generated by the motion sensor located inside the USB device.

Embodiments herein relate to techniques for baseline wander (BLW) compensation. The technique may include identifying a data stream that is to be modulated by a ring modulator of an optical transmitter, wherein the data stream has a frequency operable to cause thermal-based BLW of an optical output of the optical transmitter. The technique may further include adjusting a time-varying direct current (DC) voltage bias of the ring modulator based on the frequency of the data stream. An intake manifold assembly is disclosed that utilizes a barrel valve apparatus comprised of segments and connectors. The barrel valve apparatus and its housing component can be tapered and flexible. A protrusion such as a draft can be used to seal the performance of the barrel valve apparatus without a seal. Openings in the barrel valve apparatus can possess an integrated bellmouth shape.
