摘要: A filter press type ion exchange membrane electrolytic cell which comprises an anode compartment and a cathode compartment partitioned by a cation exchange membrane and which is useful for obtaining a halogen, hydrogen and an alkali metal hydroxide from an alkali metal halide aqueous solution, or oxygen and hydrogen from an aqueous alkaline solution. The filter press type electrolytic cell is characterized by:(a) an anode compartment frame and a cathode compartment frame, each having an opening at its center constituting the anode compartment or the cathode compartment and four holes in the vicinity of its corners constituting passages for (1) an alkali metal halide aqueous solution or an aqueous alkaline solution, (2) a depleted brine and a halogen gas, or an aqueous alkaline solution and an oxygen gas, (3) water or a dilute alkali metal hydroxide aqueous solution and (4) an alkali metal hydroxide aqueous solution and a hydrogen gas, the former two holes being in communication with the opening constituting the anode compartment, and the latter two openings being in communication with the opening constituting the cathode compartment,(b) a cation exchange membrane having four holes at positions corresponding to the four holes provided on the anode compartment frame and the cathode compartment frame, or a cation exchange membrane having no such four holes and being smaller than said compartment frame but slightly larger than said openings of the compartment frames,(c) an anode and a cathode having no four holes and being slightly larger than the openings of the anode compartment frame and the cathode compartment frame and smaller than the compartment frames,wherein a unit comprising said cathode compartment frame and said cathode disposed on each side thereof and a unit comprising said anode compartment frame and said anode disposed on each side thereof are alternately arranged via said cation exchange membrane, orwherein a unit comprising said anode and said anode compartment frame disposed on one side or each side thereof and a unit comprising said cathode and said cathode compartment frame disposed on one side or each side thereof are alternately arranged via said cation exchange membrane.

摘要: A bipolar type ion exchange membrane electrolytic cell has gas-liquid separating chambers which minimizes a pressure fluctuation in compartment frame units, deterioration of ion exchange membranes and a voltage variation in the compartment units.Upper portions of back plates 5, 3a are outwardly bent at a higher position than meshed electrode plates of each of anode and cathode compartment frames to form inversed U-shape portions; U-shaped channel members 10 are respectively placed in and fixed to the inversed U-shape portions so that spaces are formed, as passages 12, in association with the back plates, and areas defined by the inversed U-shape portions and the U-shaped channel members are gas-liquid separating chambers.

摘要: A monopolar ion exchange membrane electrolytic cell assembly comprising a plurality of unit electrolytic cells connected electritically in parallel to one another, each formed by clamping an anode compartment frame and a cathode compartment frame with an ion exchange membrane interposed therebetween, the anode and cathode compartment frames each having a feeding and discharging system for an electrolyte and a discharging system for generated gas, wherein:(a) an anode is made of a foraminous plate fixed to the anode compartment frame so that it is close to or in contact with the ion exchange membrane, and electricity is supplied to the foraminous plate via power supply rods and/or power supply ribs from a power source located outside the cell,(b) a cathode is made of flexible foraminous metal plate having good conductivity with an electric resistance at 20.degree. C. of not higher than 10 .mu..OMEGA..cm so that the cathode itself has a current collecting function, and one peripheral end thereof is extended outward from the cell to conduct the electricity to the exterior of the cell, and, preferably,(c) the flexible foraminous cathode plate is pressed by a resilient member from the side opposite to the side facing the ion exchange membrane, whereby the flexible cathode plate is deflected so that the cathode is close to or in contact with the ion exchange membrane.

摘要: A self-contained photosensitive material comprising: a support; an imaging layer on the support, the imaging layer comprising a developer material and a plurality of photosensitive microcapsules encapsulating a photosensitive composition and a color precursor; and a protective coating on the imaging layer, the protective coating comprising a cured film of a water-soluble or water-dispersible resin, wherein upon image-wise exposing the imaging layer to actinic radiation and rupturing the microcapsules, the color precursor is released from the microcapsules and reacts with the developer material to form a color image is disclosed.

The material contains a color-developer in the layer containing the microcapsule or a layer adjacent thereto and the dry image-forming material is packed together with a humidity-controlling material; or,2) The method of storing and kit as above, wherein the dry image-forming material and a humidity-controlling material are stored with a low moisture-permeable film.
