摘要: A female terminal formed by folding a piece of plate material has an electrical contact portion of a substantially quandrangular prism, which has a bottom plate portion and an opening and into which a flat male terminal is inserted through the opening for establishing an electrical connection between the male terminal and the female terminal. The female terminal also has a resilient contact piece which is formed in the electrical contact portion by folding an end portion of the bottom plate portion and which has a bent portion. In order to protect the bent portion of the resilient contact piece, a protecting wall portion for preventing the male terminal from contacting the bent portion of the resilient contact piece is so arranged as to cover a lower portion of the opening of the electrical contact portion.

摘要: A female connector housing (4) has a terminal accommodation chamber (5) configured for accommodating therein a pair of male terminals (6) and provided with a leakage prevention wall (7) as a partition for dividing the terminal accommodation chamber (5) into a pair of divided terminal accommodation chambers (8) neighboring to each other for individual accommodation of the male terminals (6). A male connector housing (10) has a pair of neighboring terminal cavity block portions (11) configured for accommodation of female terminals, to be individually inserted into the divided terminal accommodation chambers (8), and to define therebetween a mating recess (13) for the leakage prevention wall (7) to be inserted therein. When the male connector housing (10) is fitted into the female connector housing (4), the leakage prevention wall (7) tight fits in the mating recess (13), thereby preventing water invasion.

摘要: A female terminal in which excessive flexing of a resilient contact piece portion is prevented by simple working. The female terminal of the invention includes deformation prevention folded portions which are bent respectively at opposite side portions of a second folded piece portion toward a first folded piece portion. The deformation prevention folded portion supports the first folded piece portion in a maximumly-flexed position of the first folded piece portion. When a male terminal, having a proper thickness, is inserted into the female terminal, a predetermined gap is formed between the first folded piece portion and the deformation prevention folded portion. Even when the first folded piece portion is flexed upon insertion of a thick foreign object into a hollow contact portion or upon prizing of the first folded piece portion in the hollow contact portion, the deformation prevention folded portion supports the first folded piece portion in the maximumly-flexed position thereof, and therefore a resilient contact piece portion will not be permanently deformed. And besides, the deformation prevention folded portion can be formed by simple working.

摘要: The connector consists of a connector housing having terminal accommodating chambers, and a terminal locking block which is mounted to the rear portion of the connector housing in two steps, first in a provisionally-engaged condition and then in a full-engaged condition. When the terminal locking block is half-coupled to the connector housing, a full-engaging projection member formed on the terminal locking block contacts an inclined guide inner surface formed in a locking block receiving opening in the rear part of the connector housing. At the same time, engagement projections of full-engaging members formed on the terminal locking block abut against the provisionally-engaging portion of the connector housing. In the provisionally-engaged condition, the front ends of terminal holding pieces projecting forwardly from the terminal locking block are located out of the terminal lug insertion paths in the terminal accommodating chambers, so that terminal lugs can freely be inserted into or removed from the terminal accommodating chambers. Moving the terminal locking block from the provisionally-engaged position to the full-engaged position requires disengaging the full-engaging members from the provisionally-engaging portion of the connector housing. This prevents an inadvertent shifting of the terminal locking block into the full-engaged position.
