摘要: There is provided a construction for suspension system mounting portions of the body of a vehicle characterized in that a closed cross-sectional portion (19) extending in a transverse direction of the body of the vehicle is formed with a plurality of sheet materials (a front dash panel 1 and a dash panel lower cross member 7) which are each pressed into shapes, that an extruded beam member (a reinforcement beam 17) is caused to extend into the interior of the closed cross-sectional portion, die-cast suspension arm brackets (6) are welded to an external surface of the closed cross-sectional portion with a part thereof (protruding portions 15a, 15b) being caused to protrude into the interior of the closed cross-sectional portion, and that the beam member is welded to the protruding portions. This can provide high rigidity without involving the complexity in shaping the respective members constituting the closed cross-sectional portion. In addition, the breaking strength of the suspension system mounting portions against the repeated stress can further be improved by a combination of the pressed members having high toughness and the cast members having high rigidity.

摘要: A vehicle body frame is such that hollow frame members 40 such as side frames extending longitudinally along a vehicle body are provided thereon. Two inner partition plates 42, 43 are integrally formed in the interior of each of the hollow frame member in such a manner that the two inner partition plates extend in a longitudinal direction of the frame member and are close to each other along plate surfaces 42a, 43a thereof, so that a central space portion 44 defined by the two inner partition plates therebetween is formed in the interior of the hollow frame member, whereby side plates 41 constituting the hollow frame member can be dissociated at portions of the side plates which face the central space portion by virtue of a buckling load.

摘要: A hollow frame member of an aluminum alloy for a vehicle body frame includes a front pipe portion. The front pipe portion has an annular end surface as a surface receiving a collision load at a front end thereof. In the front pipe portion, a cross sectional area is gradually increased from a base end toward the receiving surface, and a thickness is gradually decreased from the base end toward the receiving surface. Thus, the front pipe portion can be crushed early and stably from the receiving surface upon collision of the vehicle to enhance the collision energy absorbing efficiency.
